SKY denyied that the password supplied with the router could be incorrect. After an O2 engineer (working on behalf of SKY) visited to investigate it was proved that the password was incorrect. It has since come to light that this is a known problem. A few days later a new router and password arrived and setting up was simple. No problems since.

Having the same issue with 3 different android devices. Nothing has been changed. I've rebooted the router and the androids and it happens repeatedly. It's very annoying! Is there no resolution.

Same for me, woke up this morning and all devices (apple) saying incorrect password

So mine took about a fortnight to stop doing this but occasionally although there is allegedly a WiFi signal according to another app all my devices lose contact. My laptop on ethernet cable even loses signal. Sky broadband is infuriating.

I had this same issue today. Wifi working on my laptop and ipad but not on a few phones in the house which reverted to 4G. Fortunately I realised or else I would have had a huge data bill from Vodafone.
When I got my Sky router in January, I changed the wifi password (as I always do to simplify it). So I know I was entering it correct yet I always got "incorrect password".
Rebooting devices and router did not work.
However, changing the wifi password on my router solved this. If you have the same problem, try this.
Its a very strange problem which I think Sky need to address. It seems to be happening to a lot of people and its not noticeable if you have a phone as it reverts to 4G and I don't always look at which connection I have (and if you have kids, they don't care as long as internet works). So the risk is huge data bills for customers because of dodgy Sky routers.

My router has been working with fine for months. Then suddenly all devices can't connect and are saying incorrect password. Come on Sky sort this out! You've known about it for months.

I have just had Fibre installed. I have successfully connected my laptop, ipad and mobile phone. It will not accept the password on my smart TV repeatledly saying the password is wrong.

Just found another page in Sky Community with a photo of the router showing that there is a WPS button on the right hand side. I really couldn't see it until it was pointed out. Pressed it when asked and TV now connected. Hope this helps anyone else who is having the same problem, I feel such a doh !!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhen you pick the router up as normal person would, your hand would cover the WPS button without you knowing it was there. Many people have to be pointed out that is there.

Thanks for the WPS suggestion.
However the main problem is that some devices only connect via a password and this stops working after a while on the router. Entering the wifi password causes an "incorrect password" error when that is not the case.
Also I've found WPS to be temperamental too but not tested extensively to confirm if the connectivity issues affect this too.

Not quite as clever as the designer of the BT Homehub 6 and Smarthub 2 who put the Power button exactly where a left-hand fingertip curls round to pick the thing up...

Just had the same problem. However solved it by the following steps
Switched router off and then on
Reset router by pushing reset switch / button for 20 secs. when power light went red switched mains off. Unplugged mains plug and the wall. Then plugged it back in and unplugged it and then plugged it in again.
swicthed mains are on now all OK
