Hi there!
I booked a home move (broadband) at the date of completion; however the fastest date given on website for activation of new house is 8th of January 2025, meaning over 3 weeks since i have submitted reequest to move home...
is it always takes this long to get activation in the new house? Cellular connection is very weak in my place, meaning i dont have any internet for a long period of time + plus during festive period with kids being at home... is there are chance how I can expedite this date? Both old and new houses have openreach modem so connection types are the same.

It's a minimum of 2 weeks which would also have been affected by the Christmas and New Year bank holidays.
My son signed up the Sky BB on 23 November and activation date was 17 December.
The date you've been given will the earliest possible date.

As @Daniel0210 indicates, the combination of weekends, public holidays and seasonal workforce shortages will inevitably have an effect.

Re: Move home - long time to get new house connected
You take any existing Sky hardware with you (but not an Openreach ONT and its power supply)
Even if Sky is going to replace the Hub, you need to safeguard the current one.
