ONT Box Alarm Light

Ususally , the ONT alarm lamp is unlit.

This evening, it turned steady green.

I was puzzled so I rebooted my Sky router.

The ONT alarm lamp remained steady green.

I rebooted the ONT and the alarm lamp is now steady red.

Strangely, my LAN seems to be working.

What's going on?

Re: ONT Box Alarm Light

As you were. The internet dropped momentarily a few minutes later before coming back on and the ONT's lights went back to normal. Obvs, a tech has sorted something out somewhere.

Difficult to know, particularly as that's an ONT model which Openreach don't appear to acknowledge, and 'Alarm' is distinctly ambiguous.  I can only infer that this replaces the LOS ('loss of signal') LED on other models.

Re: ONT Box Alarm Light

'Alarm' = 'LOS' would be my guess too.

Gremlins at work, methinks.

Re: ONT Box Alarm Light

My Openreach box has a constant red light now showing on the alarm part, this has always been green previously.

@Stevie64 the model of ONT you have isn't one thst we see very frequently but I would report the alarm light by calling Sky even if your connection is working. You can call for free by dialing 150 on a Sky Talk or Sky mobile line
