Can I pause or turn off my son’s internet connection?

Is there a way of pausing or turning off my sons WiFi connection at a certain time of the evening? 
he is up gaming until late and I want to be able to monitor it. 
virgin have a app that allows you to pause connection of devices that are on the WiFi. 
anyone have any ideas that are reletivly simple as I'm not very good with technology!

The Sky product for that is the Max Wifi add-on with its associated Parental Controls.

Currently Max is not compatible with Sky Q television though, and Sky will not supply it to Q households.
