Hi,
I have just been given a Soundbox but the optical input on my tv is broken. Can I connect any other way? I'm not really tech savvy 😟

if you are just using the Soundbox for just your Sky Q box - you can manage without the optical part of it
so put an HDMI cable out of your Sky box and IN to your Soundbox (the black socket in the middle )
Then another HDMI cable OUT of your Soundbox (the pink socket) and IN to your TV
That will let you listen to what your Sky box is playing
Without the optical cable - what you can't do - is listen to the output from the TV itself - or from other connected devices - like dvd players etc
(the reason is that the Soundbox doesn't have something you would need - called an ARC socket - which allows audio to travel both ways in to the same HDMI socket )
hope that helps

Hi Sarah
If you have Two good HDMI cables, you can connect a box/blu-ray player etc into the Soundbox, then out of the Soundbox to your TV. If Soundbox does not think your cables are good enough, no signal. Just switch the ouput to "HDMI," the nice lady says.
If your TV has Bluetooth output, you can connect it to your Soundbox this way.

Oh wow thank you so much for that. Will try Bluetooth 😊

if you experience this - on the soundbox remote you have an audio sync button (followed by plus or minus) which you can use to try to synchronise sound and vision.
