while it depends on one's email preferences, i did receive a regular email from sky sports on 7th december which in the list of stuff upcoming on sky sports, it stated
sky also as noted by other members use various other methods of making people aware of channel changes/rebrands etc

Thanks for that nolte.
I cancelled all sports channels except F1 so that may be why I don't get emails.Perhaps there's an email list I should subscribe to and I'll look into it.

only Football has more viewers, honestly the F1 snobbery is laughable.
More like just because you like darts, everybody else has to. Your darts snobbery is absolutely laughable.
Have a very merry Christmas!

So Sky make this super-duper channel... then their (removed) software can't cope with 'recording' (Sky Glass/Stream) live matches that overrun the timeslot and abruptly stop the 'recording' at 4h31m so you miss the end of the final match of the session.
How is this still happening in this day and age? We had this stuff to deal with twenty years ago when Sky+ couldn't cope with EPG schedule changes. Absolutely ridiculous. And they don't even fix it when you go looking for the on demand version of the programme - because it's only the version that stops before the end that's available.

F1 on Channel 406, has tempoarily changed to cover the Darts. Thats fine. Everyone was sent an Email. But why put the darts on 406 when exactly the same coverage is being shown on 401, at the same time? People have paid to watch all things F1 on 406. Would Sky have put the Darts over some of the Football Channels ? I do not think so. So why do they think it is ok to disgruntle F1 fans ?

Because 401 showcases the top live event from the other channels

During a period of the year when there was none to show, maybe
I do not think so. So why do they think it is ok to disgruntle F1 fans ?
All of the F1 that could be shown (IE repeats) is still available for F1 customers to watch

Have now received a text message from Sky stating I will receive a months credit .We,ll see !
29 Dec 2024 06:34 PM
Can confirm credit now received. Anyone else ?
29 Dec 2024 08:06 PM
Nope, not had a text or anything. Did you do anything like complain to Sky to get a refund?
Bit miffed that the darts had also been live on 106 Sky Showcase! Can't get away from it! 🙂
29 Dec 2024 11:15 PM
Yes I complained on various occasions to various corners of the Sky empire so the credit was a bit of a surprise! And no I did not receive any emails regarding the change Overall pretty badly handled by Sky:I have a stand-alone F1 subscription.

I saw that the the sky F1 was changed to Sky Darts and was wondering if there was a way to pause subscription to Sky F1 during the off season, as it serves no purpose of me to have it, especially when i don't even have access to the channel.
