Trouble switching on TV with Sky Stream

Just got Sky Stream, so I turn my TV on using TV remote and then turn Sky puck on using Sky remote. TV comes on, but no Sky available. I have to turn the TV off and back on again (using TV remote) to get Sky on the screen. I've spoken to Sky and they have not managed to fix my problem. Anyone got any ideas.

Re: Trouble switching on TV with Sky Stream

  • I had paired my puck with the remote successfully. But I never held the stand by button down for a while and that seems to work with switching the TV off and it works to switch it back on with Sky on the screen.

Does it work if you turn the Stream device on first, then when the light is on, turn the TV on?

Yes it still happens,  either way as I tried both. The sky employee said I should turn the TV on first, so that’s what I tend to do.

With my LG TVs I just press the Home (green) button on the Stream remote and the TV and the box both wake up. Takes about 10 seconds

What are your CEC setting on your Puck and TV?

Re: Trouble switching on TV with Sky Stream

How is it connected? I use the eArc HDMI port to connect my LG C4. The Stream home button launches Stream, TV and Sonos Beam in that order, takes around ten seconds

@AlyB4 @nmbailey

Mine is a similar arrangement:

Stream, Apple TV, BDP ---> AVR

AVR ---> LG G3 display

Using the Stream remote, turning on will activate the TV and AVR. I have terrible handshake issues, its a widely known LG issue - really grinds my gears!

@nmbailey

I just looked and it's plugged into the HDMI eARC already.

I think I'll have to contact Sky again!

@AlyB4

Using Stream, with the device on, go to Home, then Settings, then Start up (I think that's what it's called), then scroll down to HDMI control, is that on or off?

LG call CEC ... SIMPLINK under HDMI settings😉

Have you successfully paired your Puck remote and TV ... does volume UP/DOWN work ... does a long press on the Puck's standby button activate standby on Puck and TV?
