This forum is a place for Sky customers to have their say, vent their spleen, share helpful advice and share experiences 

 

The fact that sky is currently advertising the sky/netflix package shows that they want customers to sign up to this. And then when we do it doesn't work.

 

We all know we can watch NF in our smart TV mini box lap top iPad or phone so to keep in saying it (7 times so far) is just ridiculous.

 

If you can't add anything to the discussion then please don't say anything!!!

This forum is most definitely not for venting your spleen either, try it and see how long your ban lasts for.

 

As for @Chodley he's not wrong is he? If you have access to Netflix via a SmartTV or an Amazon Firestick then why frustrate yourself if you have the issue with the main Sky box. You usually get it cheaper with Sky than standalone (if not, you're doing something wrong anyway), and apparently it's a better quality feed so it's a win-win.

As a Sky subscriber I shouldn't need to do alternative work arounds to access an offered service irrespective of whether you consider it better.  Looking at the posts on here this issue has been around for months but it's still not resolved. I posted my frustrated note as I'm frustrated that the issue isn't fixed and I wanted to reiterate this point to Sky.

They know.

 

It's not a workaround. I and many others were using netflix apps on TVs and other devices for years before Sky had an app. Sky get you a cheap contract (and an integrated search). It's the biggest first world problem to have to press a few buttons (just one on any TV with a Netflix button on the remote) to access your reduced price content. The idea that anyone would repeatedly try rebooting, chanting incantations or running down the street daubed in woad in an attempt to get the inferior Sky one to work, until Sky explicitly tell us they've found and fixed the problem, is just a futile waste of time and mental energy.

But where does the problem lie, SkyQ, your internet or wifi? I have never had a problem with mine, so does that rule out SkyQ being the problem.

 

I use Virgin Media and an ethernet connection, so it could be your internet or a poor wifi connection.

I have a Sky Q box with Sky broadband. I can access my other apps without a problem, just Netflix. The only trick that seems to work is from an earlier post which is to go onto BBC iplayer first then it seems to start OK albeit with a pause.

After going into the web browser and logging into the Netflix account, signed out of the SkyQ box on the Netflix account, the Netflix account on the SkyQ box has been working fine. It looks like the SkyQ device was signed into the Neflix account for a long time without it being refreshed, it needed a refresh, probably the authentication security token for the SkyQ box had expired on the Netflix account.. Signing out and signing back into Netflix through SkyQ box fixed the issue for me.

Surely it can't be that! If that's what's causing it, someone needs to get fired.
