My SKY GLASS tv, I select HDMI, goes blank for a seccond then goes back to the Home Screen, I've tried resetting everything in the house and turned off all WiFi items, I have even resorted to switching the entire house off at the fuse board for 30 minutes
what was everyone's fix for this? Or is it a faulty tv

Just got off the phone with them, there is a technical issue getting through to technical support ironically 😂

I guess the technical reason behind the issue that the Glass with the latest update looses the "HDMI handshake" from the external devices when the TV goes to standby (or you press the Power button on your remote).
I have mentioned this issue in this forum the next day my Glass got the update.
The easiest troubleshooting is to unplug the HDMI cable from the socket at the back of the Glass, wait for 10 seconds then plug the HDMI cable back in. That would trigger a NEW HDMI handshake to be negotiated between the device and the Glass. This would restore the connection and the HDMI signal gets recognised by the Glass and you can select the external device without any further issue) This is far easier than power-off the external device by unplugging/re-plugging its power cord from the wall socket.
However you need to repeat this troubleshooting (unplugging/re-plugging the HDMI cable) whe you turn on your Glass again.
The good thing is that this is caused by a lousy programming glitch and proves that there in literally clode to none thorough firmware testing before releasing it to the masses at the Sky Glass development team...
Sorry if I was too technical, but I am really annoyed by this!

In my case nephew and mates were using PS5, Xbox, Firestick issues with all any hdmi socket.
I've now collected the TV and powered it up using Firestick, chrome cast, Apple TV there is the same fault with all these devices.
Sky tech acknowledged the fault on my call to them this morning it is being looked into but no date set for a fix.

Had exactly the same issue today. Did the usual switch everything off/on etc to no avail.
Then switched everything on so active equipment on each HDMI port. Then one at a time unplugged each cable from the TV, waited 20 seconds, and then plugged back in. TV then recognised the ports and connected successfully to the devices. Have switched everything off/on a few times and all is still working. Think this method resets the connections somehow.. Worth a try anyway as it worked for me (so far) Good Luck

Update to previous post, problem returned today.
Repeated procedure, unplug, wait 20 seconds, replug, and working again.
Obviously only a temporary fix but it a least allows you to use connected devices..

Exactly the same issue here except switching off at the plug does work, but it's infuriating as I can't use fast start on the Xbox one and have to wait ages for the game to reload rather than quick start. 😫

I've only had my Sky Glass for 2-3 weeks and just went to connect my Macbook Air via HDMI for the first time which led me to this thread. It simply won't conenct to any of the 3 ports, I've tried all of the suggested work arounds suggested here (except the hard resest, if I have to do that to connect an HDMI they can come and take the TV back now).
I'm generally very dissapointed with a few aspects of Sky Glass, it's all so glitchy, I have to power reset very often to solve minor issues and glitches. There are terrible issues with recording now, missing the end of basketball games recorded overnight and when you try to 'stream' the program that followed the game there is no sign of the end of the game. This was a failed experiment that Sky are still actively selling as far as I can tell.
This HDMI issue is the last straw. Not being able to plug in a single external device is ridiculous.

Since doing the hard reset the once, I've had zero issues with the TV since. Just make sure you have all your passwords handy.

It's just a ridiculous technical issue to have for such a large company. Your tv won't even hold a hdmi signal. £950 for a tv that wont allow you to keep a hdmi signal. Been on the phone to technical this afternoon who I have to say where very professional and tried to help the best they could. They have send it over to the developers and hopefully they push a new update out and fast!!!
