I am having my broadband go on on Monday but royal mail have misplaced my router, my friend has a spare one so my question is can I ise that 1 till I get a replacement sent

Afraid not IMO, as your friend should not have a spare unless it's very old stock.

Passing on the tips I have learned in over 24 years as a more than satisfied Sky customer.

@Jamesnchelsea if your friend has a Sky hub then you can use that Sky hubs are not specifically set up for each user.. But any other isp's router won't work and setting up a third party router can be complicated.
