Only receiving 86mbps download should be over 600

Cannot stream Netflix, speed is so poor.

Sky checker in app showing as fine, 693mbps but multiple speed checkers online showing less than 90mbps.

Called helpline and that said there was a fault, it asked if I wanted more help and cut me off.

this is not acceptable for gigafast speeds

@stacey87cat given Netflix cannot ever use more than 50Mb/s 90Mb/s is ample but. As well as bandwidth you need a stable signal to stop buffering etc

When you run an internet speed test thecrsukt is thecslowest part of the transfer which is frequently the WiFi in your home which is affected bybthe layout and type of construction in your home. To test the connection speed reliably you need to run the test on a device connected by a gigabit ethernet cable.

You should see 600Mb/s over wifi in the same room as the hub assuming that it is out in the open off the floor on a surface. Move a few rooms away and speeds drop the morecsolid the walls the greater the effect. You can use boosters but better is to get units that form a wifi mesh network which improves stability. Sky will sell you their WiFi Max bundle that can provide up to 3 extenders matched to the hub see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max

Alternatively you can buy and use your own wifi kit which if your really want speeds over 100Mb/s in every room you will need  as Sky's package guarantees 25Mb/s in every room.
