As an experiment I tried BBC1 West Yorkshire (Channnel 954 on my TV) and it worked I I got the red Button to work! and was able to read the news as usual. What is going on???

More Experiments. The one's that seem to work are in the NE and NW of England. Not the Midlands nor the South. Scotland does not work either. Have not tried Wales yet.

 It only works on 2 BBC channels ( BBC 1 NI and BBC1 Yk )

Hi

i got a call from my father today. He has enjoyed using teletext for as long as I can remember to check share prices. Today the 'text'  button he's pressed for years has stopped working.  
I made a call to Sky and spoke to a very nice man who didn't even know what teletext was. I'm guessing he was much younger than my Dad.

He upgraded from Sky HD  to Sky Q a few years ago and lost the service then. He got the Sky engineer to reinstall his Sky HD boxes as h was.

so, anyone able to shed some light or help me come up with a conclusion to his situation please?

Final Experiment. The Red Button did not work on BBC1 Wales.

As a check, I used an old terrestrial TV on all the BBC channels and the Red Button worked, so the BBC are still providing the service and it is up-to-date.

So who would  remove the Red Button service for Sky+HD  from most of mainland Britain and leave it working in the North of England and for what purpose?  Is it done for a reason or is it just incompetence?

I see no reason for the BBC to do this so it is probably Sky. We shall see, we hope😀

I live in Sussex and nothing on my 101 service.

952  BBC1

953 BBC1

954 BBC1

969 BBC2

No idea why on those and not others,perhaps they will go as well in the future if being done by region.

Ive had exactly the same issue since yesterday, im trying to resolve it but without success so far
