Sky stream

Can you use sky stream with any broadband provider?

@Scotty1956dex As you have already been advised by the previous post any BB provider can be used.  At my location I can't even get Sky BB.

 

The important thing is to make sure you BB is fast and stable enough.  Sky's minimum recommended BB speeds are as follows:

HD = 25mbps

UHD = 30mbps

HD + 1 puck = 30mbps

UHD + 1 puck = 35mbps

 

These are the speeds needed at the puck or Glass and not that being received by the router which can often be significantly different.

The ones that use non U.K. IP addresses and users of Persimmon BB  have reported issues, also those using 4G/5G mobile BB😉

The altnet ISPs that use sets of non determined UK IPs is a problem with Sky Q also, its not unique to Sky Stream.
We can escalate an customer, if their ISP is using such ranges, to add or investigate.

4g and/or5g home broadband works fine with Sky Stream and Sky Q if its using one of the EE, O2 or Three etc recommended 4g and/or 5g home broadband packages and dedicated routers.
One router that works well for many is the Zyxel range like the NR5103e.
