I'm not sure if I've just woken up from a dream or I'm still dreaming.
I don't often use sky go but that might just about to change, finally something I've been asking for a long time has been answered! Hurray!
on Sky+ I used to use the apps virtual remote to control my main and other boxes around the home a great mobility tool! On Sky Q I was always told it was coming (many years now!) but it finally has.
under settings > devices you can select sky remote!
and boom there's a remote on my phone for my sky box.
I now no longer have to use that horrid third part app with adverts all over it!
WELL DONE SKY! Please let other customers who've been asking for this know and please make it an option from the main screen.
oh yeah and please add REMINDERS with auto tune now and I might just be tempted not to cancel at end of contract. I was 100% going to now it's 50/50 that's how much this means again well done!

Posted by a Sky employeeThanks for the post @Pogit, the product teams have been working hard at this one so appreciate your feedback on it!
The latest Sky Go release is gradually rolling out with the last of the user base set to receive it a week today 🎊
And as mentioned by @cookiemonsteruk this will be on Android later on but we don't have a time frame just yet.

@cookiemonsteruk Sorry yes should of mentioned it's iOS SkyGO version 23.5 brings the ability to change the Home Screen it would of been nice if adding the virtual remote was an option but perhaps they wanted to introduce it slowly under the radar, whoops 😬
Still shocked its finally turned up tbh after so long of being told it's coming, then no it's not happening.
I needs to come out from the depths of settings though.

The problem is the number of versions of Android and making it compatible with all of them although I'm not sure it is necessary to still support Android 5.1 like the current Sky Go app does. Any versions earlier than Android 10 are no longer recieving security updates now.

I've gone into settings and devices and don't have the remote option. What am I doing wrong?
