UHD on a mini box

Hello. Chased sky twice and despite them saying they would flick the switch I can't access UHD on the mini box as I can on my main box. Any ideas?

hi @Batbatbatbatbat

Not sure who you have been discussing this with but SKY Minis have never been able to support UHD

Edit :Also, unfortunately SKY Q cannot downscale UHD recordings to play on a Mini even in HD

There's no switch to flick.

The mini's do not support UHD.  (It's a hardware limitation)

Not with Sky Q.

Only via Glass/Stream but it's quite a different product (no recording).

@Batbatbatbatbat

Worth remembering that Q is approaching its eighth birthday (released early 2016) and was designed at a time when having even one UHD television set was much less common.  As indicated, Sky Stream is the product intended for UHD output in multiple rooms, bandwidth permitting.

Re: UHD on a mini box

It's a pity Sky doesn't encourage you to swap to streaming. There are DVRs to preserve the record feature so why not offer one on streaming? Or, how about making the switch financially tempting?

I'll tell you why not: recordings can skip through ads and streams can force ads to play.
