Needing a new sky q remote

Hello I'm in need of a new sky q remote just nothing is working

As you are asking in the Sky Protect section, assume you have  the Sky Protect device insurance.

You can ring to get a new remote via the Sky Protect device insurance number here;

You can order a replacement Sky Q remote via an a online form from within Sky help, by clicking on the I need help button.

In the meantime, 

There's a virtual Sky Q remote on the Sky Go app.

You can use this whilst waiting for a replacement remote.

First get set up with Sky Go. Then:

  1. Open the Sky Go app

  2. Make sure Sky Go is connected to your Sky Q box

  3. Press the Settings button in the top left corner

  4. Under Devices, select Sky Q remote

  5. The Virtual Remote will open - you can select which Sky Q or Sky Q Mini box you want to control.

This is a customer ➡️ customer discussion forum where we try to help other Sky customers. You aren’t speaking to Sky staff by posting on here.


After checking the basics, ie; fresh batteries, re-pairing etc if your Sky Q remote is definitely broken/faulty, if you follow this link it should allow you to do some more troubleshooting and then it’ll send you to a form to request a replacement (I’m not sure if this is available to customers in the Republic of Ireland).

It may be quicker to purchase a new remote from a retailer / larger supermarket. If you do that as well as the above you’ll have a spare.

In the meantime if you have an android or Apple device with Sky Go you can possibly set up a virtual remote to control your Sky Q box. See this link which may help
