My sky q electrical interference

My sky Q box cuts out every time a light switch or any electrical equipment in the house is turned off or on

The screen turns black for a second or turns black for 5 seconds with a white spinning circle non of my other inputs I.e. my fire stick has this problem

I would get an electrician to check your wiring.

Don't think so that's my profession

i do believe it's a frequency issue with the sky Q box

Fair enough but never happens to me and I would assume all the EM shielding is the same for every customer.

Unless your HDMI cable is routed parallel to a ring main or something?

Did you get find the route of this problem as mine has started to do the same? I have a hdmi extender cable coming from the main 4k cable so not sure if that is causing the problem.

It maybe the hdmi extender  or the cable to it.

They can suffer from interference that will cause audio and video glitches.

Try swapping them out and try the Sky supplied hdmi cable or a high speed equivalent on its own to test.

I did find the route of the problem it was a detestation of the HDMI cable which I replaced and I have had no issues since then 

The lesson I have learned is DONT BUY CHEAP
