Yep. It looks as if the longstanding problem of last year has returned. App cutting out 3 or 4 times during a 2 hour movie and at least once during a 45-60 min TV series episode.  Tried all the usual reboot/refresh options. No joy.

 

To the Sky team: I think that most, if not all of us realise and appreciate that maintaining and improving a service like this is no easy task and glitches will occur from time to time but, as a courtesy to us subscribers who help pay your wages, would someone please come back with an update on this - what is the problem, what progress is being made to rectify it and how long might that take.

I've been getting the same issue with both Paramount+ and Prime Video. Used to be just the occasional drop-out, but instances becoming more frequent (2-3 times during 2 hour period). I got my box swapped when Plxelation issue became too bad. Sky swapped for the 'separate power supply' version. It the HDR 2TB box. Was okay for a month or so, but now the 'black screen'  issue. Like others, I have tried refreshing the apps, but issue remains. If Sky continue to have such problems and lack of response, I will scrap Sky completely.

I also get this issue. 

But I also get regular buffering for Prime playback. 

I also have the odd situation of my internet speed somehow being choked from 900mb down to 30mb when measured through my Netflix app.  

 

I am definitely on the cusp of shopping around for a new product.

Is it 900Mb wifi or 900Mb fibre? What does the netflix app on your phone report when it's near the Sky box? I bet it's not 900.

 

30 is plenty for UHD streaming anyway.

My earlier plea to sky seems to have gone unread or unanswered. Quelled surprise!!

 

I have noticed that once the app is restarted the programme will resume a few seconds before the point at which it failed. When it reaches that point again there is a very brief pause, as if it is overcoming a glitch or something, before the programme continues. Anyone got any bright ideas or theories as to what might be causing this?

Has this problem been sorted out yet as its getting extremely frustrated! I spoke to a friend of mine and he suggested watching disney+ and Netflix etc outside of your sky box and through your tv separately, you've paid for it, so you should be able to sign in to your account

Ive got the same problem, and have the 2TB box. Happens with Amazon too - and it cant be throughput to the box as i have 1GB internet, with a cat6a cable 1m to the box from the router - so its the box. Anyway, the best workaround is to sign into the native app on your TV (if you have a smart TV) - Id even say to a degree the picture quality and sound is better from the native aspp(s) so id assume that the sky box cant handle the apps as well as the TV can.

There are a number of well known reasons why the native apps on the TV are better. Dolby Vision and 24Hz sipporr being two of them.
