Happening to me too, just Disney+. Been happening for a while and just turned it back on and put up with it but it's happening at least once with every programme. Screen goes black and I realise the tv has been turned off. Nothing to do with the length of time watching tv either eg I may have had the tv on for like 20 mins then it happens. 

TV is LG C4 65".  Not contacted sky yet but reading on here it seems that wouldn't solve the issue anyway. Will start watching on my tv app I think.

There's a lot of diagnosing etc that goes on which we don't all want to read but I agree, it would be better if solutions were written up in threads when they are found and if generally applicable, but they never are.

i have been having this issue to for some time and Just had a chat with Sky Customer service and there advice to me was that because my Sky Box was the 2tb version with HDR and not there newer 2TB UHD box that i would have to pay £99 to upgrade my old box to the newer model which may resolve the issue has anyone had an experence with this newer box and does the issue with disney plus happen to that one also?

I too have this problem when watching Disney channel app on Sky TV, it's ok for about 1/2 and hours and then the boxes go in to standby every so often

This has been happening to me for months! Nearly every time I watch something on Disney+. The screen just goes black, no lights on the box change and my TV isn't affected. I have to press home on the Sky remote then go back to Disney+. 
Disgraceful that so many are having this issue (probably many more not posted here) and Sky are doing nothing to help us all. Ridiculous for what we're paying.

It's happening to me too but only Disney + app through my sky Q box. Doesn't happen when I'm on my tablet or laptop. Sky Q box doesn't go into standby tv light is still powered as on. Getting really fed up with this. I have to use the home button and then log into Disney+ again

Exactly this. Sky obviously has an issue! 
I found this suggestion and did it, waiting to see if it works when I watch Disney again...

 

Have you tried an apps refresh in the hidden menu?

  1. To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings, but do not select
  2. Settings
  3. With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select on the remote (select is the center button on the directional keypad)
  4. Select Apps then highlight Refresh Apps on this box
  5. You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'
  6. This message will stay on screen until you press Dismiss to return to normal viewing, but it's recommended waiting at least 5 minutes before doing so

Note: Refreshing apps can take up to 24 hrs to complete.

Unfortunately not no. I had the box swapped out and the subscriptions resent. Apps have been refreshed. At the moment there appears to be no fix 😫

Tried that. Works for a while then the issue carries on. Technical support does not have a fix at the moment 😢

I've had this issue also! Just got a new Sky Q box today changed it even replaced all the cables and literally we was watching a film and it cut our screen went black no sound nothing. Like you I have also lost all recordings for what seems like nothing. So hoping Sky can help me too as I'm really frustrated!
