But do you then own them, or do you have to return if you left.?

@trevorswan

All Sky Q equipment is loaned to the customer and must be returned at the termination of the subscription.

They say they are rented and to be returned, I've never had any returned, no ones ever asked.

@Darren686 all Sky Q equipment is loaned and needs to be returned but any Sky + boxes etc are owned  by the customer and do not need returning so if you have not returned Sky Q equipment then you are lucky you have not been charged for it

Re: Buy extra sky q mini box

Hi, if it help's to clarify they are loaned, I tried to order an additional Mini box online this morning as I already have the multi screen subscription. The price that came up was one off cost set up fee £50 payable today (this is not needed as easy to do but isn't an option to remove). Then new 'monthly' total £53.75 which is extremely high. I didn't go ahead. My other mini boxes were just a £50 one off fee each.

Re: Buy extra sky q mini box

Thank you, I'm not that desperate anyway, with all the new kit coming out, I thought they'd be giving away old stock, now theres stream and glass etc.

Re: Buy extra sky q mini box

Question related to the points raised about equipment being loaned from Sky.
if a person fails to return Sky Q equipment and is billed by Sky for not returning it, how can it be classed as stolen (as some have stated).

surely once the fine is paid the items would then become the property of whoever paid for it? Unless there is something else in the T&Cs

@Simon.walker78 the terms clearly state that paying the non return fee does not transfer ownership

@Simon.walker78 see bullet point 5 under ownership of equipment and viewing card

"Payment of the non-return charge does not transfer ownership of loaned equipment to you and you are
still required to return the loaned equipment to us following our reasonable request."

The non-return charge is to cover costs and is not a purchase as already noted.

@Simon.walker78

You're not allowed to sell it on such sites as eBay and that is when the items become stolen property.

Re: Buy extra sky q mini box

thought there'd be something in there. Wonder if they'd pay the fee back if the equipment was returned after the fine/fee already paid!
