RCS messaging between Android and iPhone on Sky

Does anyone know if Sky mobile now supports RCS messaging between an android phone and an iPhone. The iPhone has a Sky SIM in it and is ios18 but when trying to send message from my Google Pixel to it it only gives the option of text message rather than chat (RCS message)

My daughter is with Sky mobile she uses rcs messaging but i can't, i have a  samsung S24, it says connected but still isn't working ive tried everything 🤔

Reviving this conversation. I'm on a Google pixel and it seems to be sending messages by rcs. But how can I tell if that's the case or not?

Sky help bot doesn't recognise the acronym RCS, so I'm confused. It said to talk to talk to the sky support community - way to go Sky, just get your paying customers to provide the answers to your profit making service. But hey ho......

Can anyone enlighten me? We have a daughter about to go travelling and this would be very useful if it is up and running.

The reason RCS works on Pixel phones and any Android phone using the Google Messages app is because the message gets sent via Google's servers rather than the carrier. 

in order for an iPhone to send RCS the carrier needs to support RCS.

I just wanted to let Sky know - I was considering switching to your network but you are missing a key feature i need. RCS - the new version of SMS. Your host network supports it but you seem to not support it at all on Apple devices.

Can you add support for RCS please?

Don't know why they can't support this on iPhones, I know family members that have it on androids. Thinking of leaving Sky once contracts up. Very disappointing

@Helen202549  iPhones do now support it but Sky (and others) are yet to implement it on their networks.

Yes, annoying.  Likewise they don't currently support eSIM's on watches...

Hopefully they sort it out soon as ive mentioned about this before now to sky & got no-where with them. Has long as they get there money they don't care.
