Sky, please provide an explanation or fix for the Skygo App not installing on my and others Macbook.
i'm wanting to use it thuis coming weekend, and find it very disappointing that i may be cut short again with no functionality.

@Mariano56 @NetballLee I have a Macbook Air and its the pits especially when you can"t get to asleep so you want to watch something on the Sky Go App.
It was working and now its not 😔

@FifiFlowertot Yes, i don't understand why SkyGo App isn't on the Apple Store, does anyone know why Apple has stopped it?

I used the old installer but it goes in loop. The weird thing is now I have two SkyGo apps. One in the main Application Folder and another one in the User/Application. When I open the first one, it goes in loop trying to download an update. When I use the second one, the icon bumps two or three times and then disappear.

Its been 3 days and still no solution. We pay good money for this service and its a Sky issue. We need resolution now.

Delete them both and also delete any files / folders from Sky or BSkyB in:
library/application support
library/caches
library/preferences
then reboot the Mac and try running the old installer again

I contacted Sky support asking when there's be a fix and got a sort of non-answer, referring me to their generic Sky Go troubleshooting page. Pretty useless.

I've got a MacBook Air, ios version Sonoma 14.5. I've downloaded the Sky Go Installer & tried numerous times to install the app but nothing doing. The app is visible in the Launchpad plus in the applications across the bottom of the screen. When I double-click to open the Installer, the blue bar fills up right across then nothing actually happens! No Sky Go! Any ideas, please? Don't know what else to try. Thanks

I just did it but nothing changed: I always have two apps and neither of them works. Thanks anyway 🙂

You won't get that answer from Sky as that generally isn't how they operate. All they will do is acknowledge the issue/problem and that the correct team is looking at it.
Once there is any sort of update on a fix the Sky Community Team typically update the post marked as answer in this thread.

Probably go back to the previous app and meanwhile setup a new working one is too easy for them.

When making a comment its worth referring to which of the macOS Sky Go issue you are referring to as there are different issues in this thread being talked about.
There is 1 issue affecting some customers where Sky Go won't work and the version of the OS doesn't matter. This was seemingly caused by a Sky Go update and doesn't affect all customers. There is another issue reported a few days ago that where the Sonoma 14.6 update has broken Sky Go (the trigger for this is the OS update and not a Sky Go update).
Obviously rolling back versions of Sky Go can't fix the Sonoma 14.6 issue as it wasn't a Sky Go update that has triggered that to break its a change in the OS that has.

I am writing in this post since 12 of June. I think that someone, merging more different topics, is trying to create confusion. Probably you are one of these. Why?
FYI I have copied below my first message dated 12 of June and the last (before today) dated 31 of July
Now the problem of the discussion, based on your answer, is understand what is the problem?

I've same problem. Skygo Italy. The app seems installing but then closes. Tried all suggestions. I think could be a bad idea of Sky. Trying to block the installation on mac connected to tv they blocked a lot of regular macs. Hope they will solve soon. When I am in my country house, it is too difficult for my eyes to watch sky on a small tablet.

Sorry but the problem is not only Sonoma Rosetta etc. I have Mojave 10.14
Based on Sky info the app should work with my OS. Unfortunately also in my case, after May update, Sky app is not completing installation. Same situation described by many other users. Please don't forget that there are not only Sonoma users.

I can only assume when the threads were merged its because whoever merged them thought the new complaints from earlier this week were related to the same issue but it would appear they aren't. I myself didn't have any issues with Sky Go until the Sonoma 14.6 update a few days ago (which i purposely updated at the time once i saw people complaining to see if I got the same issue).
