Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreDespite your previous unsatisfactory encounter, realistically all you can do is speak to Sky again, since they're managing this process.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf you look through the posts there seem to be quite a few people receiving these notifications who shouldn't be.
Unfortunately the Superusers (who are just other users who have achieved higher status on the forum because of proven helpful knowledge) can't actually affect the process, that is for Sky to do, and the forum isn't an official method of contacting Sky.
I fully understand how concerning it must be, but at the moment the only advice we can give is to contact Sky (not Yahoo, it has nothing to do with them)

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSky don't appear to have an email address, but there is a contact us link at the bottom of the forum. If you work through that you should find a telephone number.

Thanks again for taking the trouble to send that link along.
I've followed the instructions where it talks about signing into the email account and I've done that. Normally I go straight to the Yahoo log in page and work from there.
Logging in that way does seem to present a slightly different page: there doesn't appear to be that much 'clutter' if I can put it like that. Anyway, I've logged in there and I'm crossing my fingers that's done the trick.
After that, I've no idea what Sky might mean that's different to the login I've been using, almost since the switch to Yahoo.
Again, thanks for the trouble.

Interesting, can you show the link you usually use?
I know you can login via the Yahoo site directly, perhaps that bypasses whatever check Sky are carrying out to define "use".
Fingers crossed you're now off the deletion list🤞. (assuming you really were on it, it seems a bit of a mess at the moment)

I'm not sure this forum allows this sort of URL but this is what I have a bookmark to on my Chrome browser on a Win 11 PC:
https://mail.yahoo.com/d/folders/1
I've just tested it in Edge and that's taken me to the Yahoo login page at:
https://login.yahoo.com/
Back in the day, when Sky first switched to Yahoo from Google, I always logged in via. sky.com but it was a couple of clicks more to get to my email account so direct to Yahoo cut out that second stage.
Given all of that and your advice, I've now returned to logging in at sky.com and as you say, I'm off the naughty step. No matter what happens, I will get back to the forum and update after 24th January. Fingers crossed.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI see you're getting a bit more used to the forum etiquette. Yes your links are fine.
I would suggest changing your bookmark to https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email and you will always be sure of going via Sky.

Tx!
I've changed the bookmark to the one you suggested. I can only wait and see what the situation is on January 25th!

@jayach @Bob+P its totally unsatisfactory that sky obviously have a issue that is impacting its customers but can't give an official response without the onus being on the customer to try and sort! I've had 2 long phone calls which contradicted each other ! I've taken the action needed and logged in via the sky link but have still had a further email . Even though sky have said they haven't sent an emails as they can check your account..! So as customers we run the risk of losing all our emails from decades..unless we phone again.. not sure I hold out much hope of getting a definitive answer. Are there any sky employees or moderators that can step on and push this up the line for us?

Do you have any linked sky ids to your account? As I am now beginning to think that the email so relating to my sons email address & not mine!

I believe the email quotes the email address it relates to.

No it doesn't it just says. We’ve seen you haven’t used your Sky email account in a while (this is the one that ends in ‘@sky.com’).

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe info page says the email will go "to your Sky Yahoo email address and an alternative email address if provided".
Inactive Sky Yahoo Mail accounts | Sky Help | Sky.com | Sky Help | Sky.com
So the Sky email address the closure notice is sent to is supposedly the one at risk.
Edit: If you are viewing your email on a mobile device, try using a browser on a desktop, it's much easier to see the "To" address
