I also have the same problem. I was informed that I would get a refund on a credit balance . I informed the agent that I had cancelled the direct debit and was told a cheque would be sent. I don't understand why the communication is so challenging after you return the equipment.

The raising of a cheque can take a while. If you'd kept the payment method active, or agreed for Sky to reinstate it, it would have been much quicker.

Had they asked me to reinstate I would have done so. Unfortunately they were still showing a payment coming out of the account despite the cancellation period given been sufficient for that bill to be the credit.

If you now agree to restore the direct debit then we can arrange for Sky's messaging team to contact you via here about this, if not then a cheque will have to be sent.

If you haven't moved since you left Sky then you need to call the 0808 number on the email you have been sent.

Hi, I cancelled my Sky TV account about 3 months ago and there’s a credit on the account since 2nd July. How can I get this refunded to my bank? I already have a payment method on another Sky service.

Refunds normally take about six weeks from the last day of connection but posts on here suggest it's taking longer.
We could normally escalate this to Sky on here via their Messaging Team but unfortunately the process is currently switched off and we don't know when it'll return.
At present you will need to contact Sky and speak to an agent by other means; through social media, Sky Assistant or by calling in perhaps. When calling saying nothing when asked the reason for your call usually helps in getting put in the queue.
