Re: Changes to the TV Guide - December 2025
Still no information about Really +1 being added to the EPG? It's already been broadcasting on 12382 H for almost a month now at this point according to this page: https://www.tvchannellists.com/w/Channels_testing_%26_channels_not_on_Sky%27s_EPG_(UK_%26_Ireland)

Pretty Sure it will be replacing HGTV+ 1 in January, HGTV closes in January with programming moved to Really along with TLC new look and going free to air in January apparently on 13th.

Kids' channels POP & Tiny POP closing on 31 December. Moving to streaming-only
Just a heads up for anyone with kids who watches POP or Tiny POP on Sky.
Narrative Entertainment has confirmed that POP and Tiny POP will stop broadcasting as linear TV channels on Sky, Virgin Media and Freeview after 31 December. This includes the closure of the POP Player and the POP website.
Sky channel numbers (current):
POP
Sky satellite: 613
Sky Glass/Stream: 213 (GB) & 215 (NI, Ire)Tiny POP
Sky satellite: 614
Sky Glass/Stream: 214 (GB) & 216 (NI, Ireland)POP +1
Sky satellite: 617Tiny POP +1
Sky satellite: 618
After 31 December, these channels will be removed from the EPG.
What’s happening next?
The POP brand isn’t disappearing completely. It will continue as a free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel only, available via:
Internet-connected Freeview devices
Smart TV platforms such as Samsung TV Plus and LG Channels
Tiny POP is expected to continue in a similar streaming-only format.
Narrative Entertainment says the change is due to the declining commercial viability of linear children’s TV, with most younger viewers now watching streamed content.
If your household relies on POP or Tiny POP, it may be worth checking whether your devices support the new streaming versions before the switch-off on 31 December.

It's up to Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), the owner of the channel to let Sky know when it can be added to the EPG. They may be waiting on broadcast license for the UK only and/or the EU. Or it may replace HGTV +1, as Timelord said. They may continue to use the HGTV license for Really +1, but can't use it until HGTV closes.
Additionally, it may also be a placeholder for the likes of a HBO Max/Netflix promo channel, another channel or a current channel that will launch in Ireland for local adverts, or it may remain as a testing channel. I know WBD regularly have MPEG-2 testing channels that only last a few weeks or months.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - December 2025
@UT393 MTV has nothing to do with Sky, they are owned by Viacom who are the ones closing these channels.
Vevo is not owned by sky either. Sky in reality only own a Small number of channels that you see on Satellite/Glass & Stream.
The majority are owned by 3rd parties such as Viacom, Discovery, BBC, ITV etc.
43" Glass TV & Puck Whole Home

Samsung 75" 4K TV, Sky Glass Gen 2 55", Sky Stream, EE FTTC Broadband, Three 5G Broadband (Backup), Sony 7.1 AV Receiver, Technisat MultiSat receiver.

Vevo is Alphabet (Google) plus Universal, Sony and Warners. That's a reasonably solvent lineup...

@UT393 wrote:If sky closes 4 MTV Music Channels, Why not VEVO music.
The MTV channel closures was always on the cards when Skydance took over Paramount. As always happens with these mergers and acquisitions, they need to look for cost savings, as pretty much as soon as the ink was dry on the deal, the new owners ditched the UK production arm of MTV back over the summer and have decided to close channels that aren't making any money.
Despite there being some people who still like watching the linear TV music channels, they just don't make any money anymore and haven't for a while, which is why they are disappearing very quickly compared to other linear TV channels.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - December 2025
I'm a little confused why people are talking about Vevo as it was already removed from Sky Q, Glass and Stream on 31 January 2025?

MTV being owned by Viacom? Not quite.
- 1981: MTV launched by Viacom
- 2005: Viacom split into CBS Corporation and a new Viacom with MTV Networks being part of Viacom
- 2019: the new Viacom merged with CBS Corporation to form ViacomCBS.
- 2022: ViacomCBS was renamed Paramount Global
- 2025: Paramount Global was renamed Paramount Skydance

Would be intersting if sky launch new Creator Television makes a lot more sense to plan Sky Replay closure, long after any form of EPG 152, 156 and filled with 164.

It's up to Sky reaching out ro Creator Television or vice versa. You can contact one or the other and provide a suggestion to them. The Vevo app and channels are not on Sky. Some Vevo channels are available on Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, etc.

I think it's possible that Vevo music channels may launch in MTV's place. I say this because usually Universal Group (NOW channels) and That's TV are quite quick to grab recently vacant channels and move to them, but it doesn't seem like the case for now.
