To avoid that @Bill+Redcliffe you can watch the cricket on 404 as it doesn't happen on that channel.

I noticed this happening on the 12/07/23 on the overnight series repeats on the Sky Showcase HD channel then it started on Witness HD and Max HD on my SkyHD box.
Somebody at Sky has set a setting which is part of the signal feed that instructs boxes when an ad break starts and ends. Is it not something to do with Sky Stream / Sky Glass and the ad skipping feature?
I have also started getting this error on a Sky+ HD box on E4 HD (135) in the last couple of days, not noticed it on recordings, doesn't seem to happen on downloads. As expected no banner appears on Live BBC1 so could be adverts at fault and not the start and ends of programmes.

As stated above by Sky, they are aware and are looking into it. These things do take time I'm afraid.

I think this is happening on 401 because the content is drawn from another channel but the advertiding is different. So in effect you are watching the ads sold for channel 401, but when tbe ad break ends it effectively switches channel in the background to deliver the content from another channel. It didn't used to do this so it looks like a Sky geek had a plan to 'improve' things.
This issue needs to be resolved. It's happening right now on the Burton v Leicester league cup game on Sky Main Event Live. The programmer banner keeps popping up and cutting the sound off. We've noticed it happening on many Sky channels such as when watching Magnum on both Sky HD channels.
