What Sky should do is if you press on `Watch From Start` button then just incase it messes up add the TV Program or Film to you playlist in your profile so its there if you need it.
Sky could add a `Watch Frorm Start` in your profile so they are all in one place, but you would need to setup your profile first, for it to work... 🙂
Not a bad idea... 🙂

.....not a bad idea.. except....on 2 separate occasions I have used the watch from start feature on programs in my playlist....
Both times it's gone wrong per this thread.... and on both occasions the program was no longer in my playlist .. lost forever.

What did Sky say when you told them of the issue.?
When I rang they totally denied having an issue and blamed my ISP., we know differently now.

I think this is the best answer.
A idea... How to Bypass the Buffer Running Out on `Watch from Start Button` A Workaround
================================================================
If you want to watch a TV program or film from the beginging/the start, press the red `+` button on the remote instead of the `Watch From Start` button on the screen and it will add the TV Program or Film to your playlist so you can watch it from there so from the start now, plus saves it for later too, if you want to watch it again or watch it later and this bypasses the `Watch From Start button FF buffer running out probem`... 🙂
Make sure you make a profile first otherwise it will not add the TV program or Film to your profile.
Then go to your playlist and play the TV Program or Film you added from there and start it from the start... 🙂
If you don't have a profile then press the red `+` button and you can make one from there before adding the TV Program of Film to your playlist.
You could name the profile `Watch From Start` too so you have a proffile for it..

I have this issue too, is there not just a fix for this bug instead of private conversations wand whatever that entails? I paid for Sky with the ability to watch tv on demand, and I just watch half an episode by the time it jumps back to live tv. Pretty useless really. Not to mention my Sky broadband doesn't even seem reliable enough to even watch Sky tv. 🤦🏾♂️

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Bufort This is a know issue which is being worked on my Sky. There is a fairly comprehensive thread at THIS link which contains a post from Sky who acknowledge the issue and confirm they are working on a solution. The Sky post is marked as the answer for ease of identification.
Let's hope they find a solution soon as it is really annoying. The only advice I can give is when watching from start and the programme has finished in real time do not try to fast forward as this is when I find it jumps back to live viewing.
Depending on the programme you may be able to watch the portion you missed on catchup TV.

Hi Chloe-w22 does your comment regarding the lip sync ongoing issue you mention in another blog below include the fix for this skipping issue that's also been ongoing?.
"On Tuesday we began rolling out software version QS034.023.02 to Sky Stream customers, and this morning have begun the rollout for QS034.023.04 for Sky Glass customers to improve the lip sync experience. The software update is a gradual rollout, where we expect all Sky Glass and Stream customers to have their new software by the end of January"

Is there a web page where we can quickly capture issues that we have with sky puck so SKY can prioritise which issues need fixing first?

Unfortunately not.
They do tend to pick up on which issues are reported most, both direct to Sky and on these forums.
If there are issues then the more people report them, the more likelihood there is of something being done about them.

I can confirm this new software update does NOT fix this issue. Just tried now. So the promise of the end of jan is not true.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Gijimes333 Have you checked that you have actually been updated as not everyone has been to date. Since I was updated I have not seen the lip sync problem at all BUT I have read today that some people are still experiencing it on BBC1.

Yes I have had the update and just tried on channel 4. I could fast forward but as soon as the broadcast ended it froze and reverted to the live channel.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Gijimes333 I see this thread has got a bit muddled with posts now referring to lip sync and not the FF issue as it did originally. The update being rolled out at the moment is to fix the lip sync and not the FF problem.
I certainly wish the FF issue was also sorted as it is very annoying and happens to me all the time if I watch from start. If I remember I try not to FF after rewinding or watching from start.

The sky rep said an update was coming the end of Jan to fix this issue and as we are only a few days away and new software has been released, we can assume this is the update they were talking about. So to confirm this update has not fixed the issue as promised.
