Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
I'm ditching in new year too. Going to use the apps on the smart TV and get some other subscription - probably Now TV.
They won't do anything until they loose customers. We have plenty of choice out there and better means to access it.

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
Completely agree @NickJJ . The puck is very much below the standard that is required at present, though I am going to still try and be patient. Like you as well, my WiFi and broadband is excellent and with a top provider so it's simply nothing to do with our set up. Also all my other gadgets work perfectly fine
I constantly get black screens also on the latency channel

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
I have been patient for 18 months but I'm totally sick of it saying there's no Wi-Fi (I'm connected through Ethernet), waiting for prog to load, juddering on UHD) and all the other issues shown on this Forum, (Sky expect us to support this junk for them) Sometimes I have to restart box numerous times before anything works.
I will use Now on my smart tv and I have an Amazon Stick and Z10 for other streaming - which never have issues with network.

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
I have a sky puck in 3 rooms. The only channel that stutters and suddenly fast forwards on all three is Sky Sports UHD. It doesn't happen on any other UHD transmission. TNT sports UHD is perfect. Its dammed annoying when you pay good money for the sports package. It's been doing it since I had the pucks 3 years ago. My internet connection is Sky 500 so no issue with stream power. What's going on Sky. Should I be having a refund for sub-standard equipment and putting up with it for 3 years?

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
ChatGPT is interesting. Concludes irs the Puk hardware that's the issue, which makes sense. Tried wired and Wi-Fi connection but UHD football keeps buffering and stuttering, it's rubbish. F1 is fine as it's darts. Disney and Netflix work seemlessly from my TV. Sky need to upgrade the box, ideally with a firmware update to fix.
just to note, my internet speed >200 mbps so it's not my broadband at fault, it's the **bleep** hardware from sky.

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
That is very interesting re Chat GPT and supporting that what we are saying and seems to conclude as well that the puck is insufficient in the current state @Mark_blue_nose
I sympathise with you as well @NickJJ as I have also had the puck for a while and it's very frustrating that we still have issues and we keep being told that it's the set up at home and nothing to do with Sky!!!

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
I have been having these issues more and more lately. I have a lg Oled tv with a Sonos soundbar. I was having some issues tonight but after reading some comments I switched the sound settings to passthrough, and it's seemed to have done the trick. Either that or it's coincidence

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
It's infuriating that this hasn't been properly addressed to date. I am getting this issue more on more when trying to watch Sky Sports UHD. Will be cancelling very shortly unless this gets sorted satisfactorily. Absolutely unwatchable

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
When I spoke to Sky regarding the issue, I was told that my 150mb/s broadband wasn't fast enough for UHD sport. They managed to convince me to upgrade to 500mb/s. There's still no change to Sky UHD sport. Every time I ring Sky, I just get told to try this and try that and eventually they say "we'll report it to tech dept." It s rubbish. They know they have a problem with the Pucks but won't admit it due to cost to fix & replace them.

Re: Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering
@Gareth61 My broadband is 500 and still puck doesn't function as it should. I agree that Sky can't seem to acknowledge that the puck is not fit for purpose and that it needs major updates to fix all the many issues that are still happening
We can only hope that eventually they will admit that it's not up to scratch and then they won't hear the many customers not being happy
We all want it to work and that it will make us all happy
