I have also seen this on non Sky channels, including Prime and BBC iplayer

@Bluegiraffe @Virgin Stream are seeing the same issue

@Bluegiraffe @The way IPTV is delivered is not the same as satellite or terrestrial tv. The fact it stems from the point of broadcast doesn't mean all would see the issue at the same time as you say. Too complicated to explain on here, but the pixelation issue isn't related to your stream box or broadband.

Could Sky fix it if they wanted to, or is it beyond their control?
It's under investigation by Sky but it's quite a complicated issue which is why it's not been fixed yet.
The post marked as the answer is the latest update from Sky and the community team will update this thread when there is more progress they can share.

Agreed, a server side issue would affect alll users - I have seen this on Prime and IPlayer - not sure Sky has anything to do with those streams.

The apps via stream are within Sky's servers

That's correct , as I've been told it's a broadcast issue. The issue started when there was a global outage affecting many companies who use the same basic platform and build their systems round it.

@Uniform576 . I've got the app on my tv and on my firestick. No box. I've been with Now for about a week and haven't seen any pixelation yet but never say never.

@squareeyeschris Thanks for that info.
I have tried Now TV couple of years ago, and if you threaten to leave they always come up with deal.👍

@Bluegiraffe If you look back through the posts you will see that there are instances of people having the issue at the same time on the same channel. I'm not saying everyone but even if it was I think it would be difficult to see.

@Jason+Golding Sorry mate, when you said earlier that many of the issues were related to the sky stream box I wrongly assumed you were including the pixelation issue, particularly as this is a thread about pixelation.

The pixelating continues on many Sky Channels including but not limited to Sky Showcase, Sky History, and Sky Movie Channels and Sports

Is this pixellation only on live channel streams? Or is it when streaming anything via a Stream puck?
It certainly points to an issue on the output/server side of things at Sky. We've been a streaming-only household for nearly a year now, using apps on alternative hardware, and have never seen any form of pixellation as depicted in this thread. We use the NOW app for Sky content on demand but never watch any live channel streams and it's always been fine.
Perhaps it's some sort of buffering/encoding issue with pushing the sheer volume of live channel streams which Sky Stream offers. There's an awful lot of data that needs to be received, processed and output via Sky's servers.

@Mister_Dalek Can't say if it's on anything via the puck but I've certainly seen it on on-demand streams.
