After checking the basics, ie; fresh batteries, re-pairing etc if your Sky Q remote is definitely broken or faulty, if you follow this link it should allow you to do some more troubleshooting and then it’ll send you to a form to request a replacement (I’m not sure if this is available to customers in the Republic of Ireland).

It may be quicker to purchase a new remote from a retailer / larger supermarket. If you do that as well as the above you’ll have a spare.
In the meantime if you have an android or Apple device with Sky Go you can possibly set up a virtual remote to control your Sky Q box. See this link which may help

Re: defetive handset
Thanks for response, have tried several stores unable to find correct handset. Bought two online both defective. I thought I could purchase from Sky but this doesnt appear a possibility. Cheers

Re: defetive handset
Did you pair the ones you bought online with the box?
I seriously doubt they were both defective.
You can't buy them from Sky because they will replace faulty ones for free as they're loaned to you with the box.

Re: defetive handset
Many thanks for input. Bought two handsets online, (not boxed, maybe 2nd hand) paired them to multi-room box, both handests had buttons which were difficult to press/operate and non responsive.
Where or How do I get new handsets? I have three multi-room boxes, several years old and all handsets suffering normal wear and tear.
Grateful for any help or advice.

Use the link in my earlier post, but I doubt Sky will send you three. Remotes for Sky Q can be purchased in most larger supermarkets, Argos, Asda Living etc.

Re: defetive handset
My remotes are all 10 years old
This is the "normal wear & tear" on the one just here in this room 😉
I imagine you'll get all 3 replaced if you go through the troubleshooter process 3 times. Maybe not all at the same time though.
