Re: TV Essentials Package
Well I phoned up this morning. Said the best he could do was £10 per month for 24 months. That was the best offer coming up for my account. I didn't agree with it but he wouldn't move. Said I would leave it as would have to discuss with my sister. Disappointed in sky after being told I could easily get it applied 12 months later.

Re: TV Essentials Package
Once you say you are leaving they will put you through to retentions. They're the ones with the deals. You just have to be prepared to leave if they call your bluff.
We had a sky package but realised we were just using the box to series link freeview. All our fav programmes were no longer on the Sky platform. Too many streaming services around now.

Re: TV Essentials Package
I used a phone number which went through to cancellations. I am on an 18 month minimum term contract so don't think I could cancel yet. I think the offer I got on my email was £10 and another 18 month contract. I hate all of this haggling. I wish there was a set price and everyone got the same. Some people enjoy it but I get stressed.

Re: TV Essentials Packagerun
I feel exactly the same. We now also have to haggle for utilities and all insurances. Hate it. So stressful 😞
... but with Sky, even though they say the number is cancellations, only Sky will put you through to retentions. The Sky Essentials is a separate contract so doesn't matter that you're still in contract for your broadband. You can cancel the TV once your year is up with no penalties.
If they didn't offer it again to me for £5 ( I told them I wanted to cancel and was prepared to do it ) I was going to buy a freesat box. It'd work out cheaper in the long run.

Re: TV Essentials Packagerun
I don't think I would be able to say that I will cancel if I don't get the £5 price because although I had the discount for 12 months I think my minimum term is 18 months. So much for being a loyal customer. Diamond VIP over 24 years! Doesn't mean anything to sky.

Re: TV Essentials Package
I've been on Sky essentials package since May this year and I don't have a contact. I can leave whenever I want. It's £10 but I got it discounted to £5.

Re: TV Essentials Package
I've just gone through the process of moving from Signature to Essentials (we don't watch enough TV to warrant the price for SIgnature and I can't remember the last time we used any of the Signature channels). They told me £15 was the "normal" charge but are giving me it at £5 for 12 months. As we've got the Q box, still means we can record the things we watch that tend to be on BBC, ITV, etc so it works better for us. Deffo a case of getting to the right team as I was bounced around a few people until the got me to the right person
