Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

I've tried to reboot 5 times SkyQ BOX still stuck on standby mode virtual assistant was rubbish and I gave up after 20 minutes on the phone let's hope they try something else as the technical fix is clearly not working across the board.

My Sky Q still not working since yesterday evening have tried several times to reboot but cuts off after 10min. Sky this is unacceptable!!

Have you tried the recommended fix that Sky have mentioned for this problem;

Switch off your Sky Q box at the power socket for 30 seconds and back on again

Make sure you do the above on  your main box first and once up then do the same for your mini box or boxes.

I've just manually did a Software Update

Box has now completed the update, I've placed it into Standby mode and it's currently finishing up

From what I can see, it's sorted the issue

Now on version: Q300.000.06.00L (5yzv4ns)

Interesting. Mine's on Q310.000.13.00L (60neph0) and has been fine all morning.

New software is gradually released in batches and currently a manual update will only reinstall your current software which for most people will be Q300.

Missing channels following last nights issue with Sky Q boxes

Along with most of the country we had issues with our sky Q box going off several times last night.  We gave up after resetting it 3 times and left it unplugged overnight.

This morning we have plugged it back in again and can watch most things BUT several of our subscibed channels especially documemntary channnels eg blaze and sky History 2 are missing.  We are getting a message no satellite signal. clearly there must be a satellite signal as we can get most other channels.  We have unplugged and reset several times and have cheked we have correct software .  Anyone else experiencing these problems ?  Can anyone suggest what else I can try please

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

Absolutely appalling service from sky. I still can't log into the sky site to see if there is any official warning/response about the problems and they appear to be relying on this forum to disseminate information. As the vast majority of U.K. sky customers do not use this forum how on earth are they to get any useful information if they can't access the sky website? Is the lack of official sky information a ploy to avoid compensation?

This to my mind is yet another hack of sky's system and not just a random bug

Re: Sky Q box stuck on standby

My Sky Q box wouldn't move from amber standby light, changed batteries, reprogrammed controller, reprogrammed a second controller, nothing, read this post about on/off button, hey presto up and running - Hooray! Just shows, no matter how trivial or silly something might seem, there's always a chance it will help someone. Briliant.

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

Only message I could find from Sky last night said, "no issues in your area" really bad (no)  communication from them regarding what was a widespread UK issue.

They've now put message on saying, 'we were aware of some technical issues,  our technical teams worked quickly to investigate and resume service'.

However, this was not sent to individual customers, I had to search on Google.

Very poor customer service,  they're quick to take large amount of money from you.

You will not get compensation for a few hours of outage for a luxury service that is non-critical 🙄
