Nope. Just coincidence I happened to be watching iPlayer. Box went into standby, locked up with a green light as per usual and had to be power cycled.

I must have had hundreds of emails from this site since I started this discussion on Thursday evening. Have  Sky said what has caused this major issue on Thursday evening.

As I said.. I did a reboot of my Sky Q box on Friday morning, and since then fingers crossed, all working well. I only have a Sky Q box, no mini boxes and my broadband is with another provider and not with Sky My broadband was was not affected. by this major outage.

Finally, I don't understand why so many people are doing a software update if all it does is reset the current software.

Ever since I have had a Sky Q box I have never done a software update. I have it set to Ecc Mode and I am told by  Sky when  necessary my software will update automatically  over night. I assume this is correct.

i have also spoken to other Sky TV users,  and like me, they did a full reboot of their Sky  Q box on Friday morning and all is working well. I hope I am not tempting fate by saying this.

That's right, there's no need to manualy do software updates on Sky Q as even though it looks like it's updating, all it will do is download and reinstall the current software. Equally turning the auto standby mode off will not resolve this problem.

Sky Q still not working ?

Hi - anyone else still experiencing the outrage. We have been down since Thursday evening and we keep calling Sky and all they can advise is turn off and unplug. We were told wait for 48 hours which we have done and still Sky Q box not working any ideas? Thanks

Frozen like the other evening. Have rebooted but recording will have failed. So frustrating

Mine's not worked at all since Thursday night. Have rebooted it countless times.

Have tried contacting Sky but all I get are robots - none of which know about this unusual occurance. One is sending me a new remote, and another had booked an enhineer appointment for 2 June!

Extremely poor service from Sky.

Calls to Sky will initially be automated which may try to send you here to the forum, offer you online help or offer to send you a text. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

We’re extremely sorry If you experienced issues with your Sky Q services recently. These issues have been fixed. If you’re still having trouble, please switch off your box at the mains for 30 seconds, then back on. For mini box issues, also reboot the main box.
