Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05
I would agree, but this failure occured at exactly the same time as the issue last night?

My Sky Q box went in to stand by 3 times last night, but Sky Go on my Chromebook still worked. This is the second time this has happened this year. When I tried to look on the Sky web site, it wouldn't let me sign in. I've had Q for 8 months now and sometimes wish I'd stuck with the hd+ box.
hi @PeterRock
As you will see from the mega discussion that I have moved your post to, last night's problems were much wider than your box.
In my eight years with SKY Q this is the 1st time I have seen such a failure across many (if not most) Q boxes.
I know that Q does not suit many who were used to their old trusty HD boxes (although these are now failing more regularly due to their age)

No it doesn't. Pressing any of the buttons on the remote control does nothing

Re: Arghhh
Do you have Sky+ (where you've posted)? There was a large outage last night mainly affecting Sky Q.

Yes. I've probably placed the batteries in and out about a dozen times

Sky Q error?
Last night (15 May) during the Eurovision, my Sky Q box "failed". It was still showing the green power light and the recording red light, but the TV output (HDMI) was showing nothing, and my TV was saying No Signal as it seemingly wasn't getting anything from the Sky Q box. I had to turn it off by the mains and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. This seemed to fix it. About 30 minutes later, the same thing happened again.
Now this morning, I tried to turn on my Sky Q box and it wouldn't turn on. I had to unplug it again.
I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced this? My Sky box seemingly has had no previous issues. To me, it seems like a faulty update rather than an error from my end. I also checked all cables and changed the HDMI cable to see if it was that, but the issue persisted.

Re: Sky q and mini box not working
I've merged your post into this thread that is most likely connected. Don't expect you to read 1000+ posts but suffice to say there has been a massive TV outage overnight. Sky are asking customers to reboot their boxes this morning which is working for the majority.
Try a reboot of the main Sky Q box, then once that’s back up and running do the same with any mini boxes if applicable -
~ Using the remote put your main Sky Q box into standby
~ switch the box off at the plug
~ wait at least 30 seconds and then switch the box back on at the plug
~ follow the on screen instructions
~ when the screen goes blank and the blue Q stops pulsating wait another 30 seconds
~ press the 🏠 button
Allow 5-10 minutes before things hopefully revert back to normal.

Re: No signal on sky Q
Expect uproar if this problem persists through and ruins coverage of the Cup Final and Eurovision tomorrow.

Red light stays on.
Red light on my sky Q stays on. I turn off the box as advised. It works for around 30 minutes and then appears again.
