Everyone who's Sky Q keeps turning off every 20 minutes

My Sky Q kept turning off every 20 minutes. 

 

I tried resetting and had no joy I eventually fix in the settings Setup Preferences by turning the Standby Mode from  Eco to none  and it's been working OK since.

Top right of page click my settings, then email settings then tick 'do not email me' - click save

Same here in Rugby, Warwickshire. Sky disconnected to no power. Had no clue, App said no problems in area. Still not back on after mdnight and missed the rest of darts after 10pm.

I've had the same box keeps going off but it's actually not off the light is on but black screen so I switch it off at the walls and it does it again this hooked a couple of times past few times but it's real bad today and tonight. I to have a sky q box it stay on for about 5 minutes and then goes off and doesn't come back on unless you switch it off and the walls and back on again I can't even log into sky app as it say it's under maintenance to report it getting fed up now

Same in Rugby, Warwickshire. Box froze on but said not connected, tried all sorts to contact Sky and messed with wifi etc. but was defo a Sky problem.

It's not a WiFi issue I have virgin media WiFi but sky Q tv so it's definelty an issue with the boxes it self

Definatley something linked to the standby settings on the main Sky Q box.

If you leave the Sky Q on constantly watching something on TV connected to the Sky Q Box (not mini) then it works fine ... the moment you change to a different input (PS4 or whatever), the standby feature kicks in after a while and messes things up OR if you're using Sky mini and leaving the Sky Q untouched then this scenario also messes up the main Sky Q box*.

*Remember Sky Q is the main box here. This needs to work for any of the other mini boxes connected to it to work. The moment Sky Q box messes up, everything goes down.

If you don't want to mess about with system settings, leave the SkyQ viewable on a TV and everything should be fine ... crappy interim solution but works lol.

Mine never had the smart standby set (it's always been on active) and I still got the crashes) . Maybe it's fixed now mines been ok since I rebooted about 20 minutes ago (fingers crossed)

Mine is back and working fine for the last 2 hours. I switched box off, plugged in, turned standby off totally and did the update. All working fine now

I'm relieved the problem is country-wide and not my box! I just unplugged all my sky equipment and will leave it overnight, hopefully there will be a fix tomorrow 🙂
