Sky q controller disconnecting

My sky Q controller keeps disconnecting from my tv and I have to go through the set up again.

It then often takes several attempts to resync the controller. It says it is not supported then several attempts later it syncs.

It will then be fine for a few days then goes again.

very frustrating!

Any ideas?

Have you tried completly resetting it @NicMeek 


Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

Model? They make a LOT of different TVs. Just wondering if it's a known issue "out there" but need the model to check.

 

could be the remote memory is failing I suppose. How old is it?

Was there and answer to this ? I have the same issue.  Every time I turn the tv off I have to reset the box to get the remote to work again.  Samsung again

I just did this and the remote control stopped controlling both Sky Q and TV.

hi @SueEmma 

 

Does your remote have direct  line of sight of the box - after a reset it uses Infrared and needs to 'see' the box until it is paired.

Hello, I mamaged to pair it to the box, it's still not controlling  the TV. Tried all the steps on remote set up and a few times. 

I probably need a new remote or box? Kind regards.

Doubt it. Most likely it's not the right IR codes/model number for the TV during that part of the setup process.

I have had the same TV, Sky Q box and remote  for over 3 years . All worked perfectly till yesterday and even tried reconnecting again today wirh no success. 

Most grateful for any assistance in this humble but necessary matter, sincerely.

When you slected the TV to pair with did you choose the 'Find it for me' option after selecting the Make ?

 

I,  usually, recommend that option and it does work for the majority of people - not sometimes you need to try several of the codes before getting one that works, although they do tend to use the most common ones first (my Panasonic always connects with the 1st one)
