Sky Q remote not working
I've tried everything to get my sky remote to control the TV. I've changed the batteries, put them in a different control and they work but not with the sky q remote. I'm so confused

Hi @LLoney
Try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

I'm having the same issue tonight on both boxes and I can't even control the sound with the Samsung tv remote either. What is going on? My other box is responding one minute and the next nothing works.I've rebooted the whole system and it's still the same

I've done this and now I have a message on the home page asking me to insert a viewing card plus it doesn't work

I'm having the same problem now myself, Sky remote control voice commands are now totally useless and does nothing

Thr on-screen instructions come up after holding down 7&9 and then 1&3
if no instructions appear at that point something is wrong with the remote, the batteries are dead, or it wasn't pointed at the box.

I had same problem contacted Sky and they sent a free replacement but it wrong one and doesnt work either, sky worked well with the remote app on phone if your stuck but i just done the reset as suggested and it now works perfect

Similar issue here, the 'sky' button works, I've tried the 1&3 trick which brings up instructions but as the buttons don't work I can't move to the next step.
- I've also tried the 7&9 however no lights flash on the remote for this?

Maybe pull the batteries and then try 7&9 together again. Should always work.

7 and 9 didn't work for me. Went straight to pressing 1 and 3 together instead, entered the brand of my TV, and it was fixed in seconds.

Thanks, my voice control has been playing up, tried all the options more than once! Then saw your note about getting a free new remote, just followed your link, filled in the form and new remote on the way 😀 fingers crossed it will solve my issue! So thank you 🙏

What didn't work for you? After checking the basics, ie; fresh batteries, re-pairing etc if your Sky Q remote is definitely broken/faulty, if you follow this link it should allow you to do some more troubleshooting and then it’ll send you to a form to request a replacement (there is the possibility this is not available to customers in the ROI).

It may be quicker to purchase a new remote from a retailer / larger supermarket. If you do that as well as the above you’ll have a spare.
In the meantime if you have an Apple device with Sky Go you can possibly set up a virtual remote to control your Sky Q box. See this link which may help
