No signal

I have always had a sky hd box in my bedroom running on free sat and when we changed to sky q in the living room it was set up to carry on free sat in the bedroom on the same box but several months later it's stopped working and says no signal. Can anyone help

Assuming that's no satellite signal, it means there's a problem somewhere between your Sky box and the dish. It could be the cable, the connectors at either end of the cable, the LNB (where it connects at the dish) or the,box itself. Turn the box off at the plug and check that the dish connection at the back of the, is secure. You could try unplugging and reconnectng the connector, but do it,carefully, as it's easy to bend the centre 'pin' inside the plug.

@English+B
No signal normally comes from your TV, no satellite signal normally refers to your Sky box. Have a look at this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal
If that doesn’t help you, at the end of the link it should give you an option to arrange an engineer to check your dish alignment.

@Treek

As per my post above, ”No signal” tends to be a message from your TV (in which case check the cables going to the TV). A “no satellite signal” message relates to your Sky box.

If it displays no satellite signal take a look at the troubleshooting here
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If you’re on a communal dish system in the UK you’ll have to contact your landlord or building management company rather than Sky.
