New installation

I have just had an engineer to fit a new installation - satellite and sky Q. I assumed the engineer would fit an internal socket. However he has just drilled a hole through the external wall to feed the cable through and straight into box. Is this standard?

Yes this is standard  - they do not fit sockets & prefer to keep the cable unbroken.

BTW they would still have had to drill through the wall to feed the cable to a socket

hi @T.T

That extract is for Broadband  (fibre)  which does require various sockets both outside & in

Not sure why that would show under TV - as I say they do not install sockets for the TV cable

@T.T are you sure that is under TV as a ONT box/master socket is for broadband  installation and is not used for Sky TV can you post a picture of the whole article
