Re: Netflix: Red Spinning Circle on Launch

Pretty much tried everything mention here. Router off. App refresh. Q box on/off etc. 1 thing I did do not mentioned elsewhere was go into netflix account via Internet. Sign out your Q box. Then turn off your sky q. Reset button first. Turn off. Leave five minute. Let load up like normal and netflix worked fine. I dont know worth a try. Wonder if it loses the link and signing out forces sky q to sign it back in?

That's what we've been saying repeatedly but it's further into the thread that someone spotted it so you probably didn't get to it as it's a beast! 🙂

Don't think it loses the connection but we think maybe the authentication token gets corrupted or something and when it has to request a new one...

Signing out the SkyQ box in the Netflix app then powering off for a few min and back on worked for me 👍

Good to know that both you and @Nile2977 have had success with the easy solution that seems to have worked for many. I do wonder if the few that it didn't work for failed to reboot the Q box after removing the Q box from devices online.

Much, much easier than most of the other "solutions" which don't appear to work.

Sky Q 2GB 32B106 - HDMI to TV, hard wired to router with WiFi disabled on the Q box
VM 256Mbps via rubbish VM HUB 3 router
Samsung S95C 55"

It was bugging me that I couldn't remember who came up with the 'fix' in the first place and I've been trolling through the thread looking for the first mention. It was @Sam9999 👍 at the end of November last year (although it seems longer than that 😉 )

I would reboot the Q box after removing the device from the Netflix account however.

I still don't know what Sky did to my account (delete the authentication token remotely maybe?) at the end of July or start of August last year but it's been perfectly fine ever since.

Netflix won’t load

Netflix wont load from App on Sky.  Broadband check is saying ok, but Netflix wont load today.  Working intermittantly at the moment.

Should not need to reset settings on the Q box after force-logging it out, just reboot it.

What Sky TV service do you have as you have posted this in the Sky Go forum, which is itself an app so has no link to Netflix at all?

Re: Netflix: Red Spinning Circle on Launch

I too have had intermittent red circle spinning until the last couple of days when it was permanent. I tried the app refresh and reboot of my skyQ box to no avail. But I finally got Netflix working by going into my Netflix account on a web browser and resetting my sky box on the devices part of my account, and then rebooting my sky box.

I followed the instructions from Colin0000‎ (post 1569)

Log into Netflix via the web browser.

Highlight your profile picture (Top right corner).

Click on Account.

Under the Security and Privacy option, click on 'Manage access and devices'.

Select the device name: (it may be called SkyQ ......or Sky UK Set-top box).

Select--> click on the "Sign out" option on the SkyQ ......or Sky UK Set-top box.

Reboot SkyQ box by turning off at the wall or plugging out for 1 minute.

Go to your SkyQ box and launch the Netflix app on your SkyQ box.
