Thanks very much for your efforts here!
Your solution worked for me. I wasn't very hopeful when the username and password fields came up!
I found that either O2 or sky.mobile worked as the network name. There is very little feedback at the crucial moment but patience is the key! Then just backing out of the menus as there is no ok button.
Thanks very much!!

Stumbled on this string of posts Googling in frustration trying to get Sky SIM to work in 2020 Discovery Sport. It does work and huge thanks to this discussion for solving the problem. Couple of additional pointers if you are as dim with tech as me: I already read that you needed to change the Service Provider to O2 from Sky but I could not find that menu. I found the "Mobile Data" on/off toggle. Eventually I worked out that if you tap on the actual words "Mobile Data" it opens another menu (d'oh!). Change the auto on/off option for service provider to "off" and then boxes appear for you to fill in. Type in O2 and everything will work. Nothing else needed, no username or password etc - leave those blank. Never underestimate an older man's inability to understand tech instructions!!! Thanks again for the help, especially @Benno123d who answered it way back.

I had the same issue, brand new Sky Sim in my RR Velar and although it showed that there was 4G full signal, I had no Internet connection via the car's hot-spot.
I changed the network setting from Sky to O2 and problem instantly solved.

I had struggled for over a year ith this on my RR Velar.
JLR changed the sim reader and later the telematics control unit.
Eventually tried a sim from an alternative provider and all worked well.
Came across this thread, turned off the auto select for provider and manually entered 'O2' and bingo all works well.
Very frustrating that both Sky and JLR are not aware of these issues.
Can't thank you enough!
