Can anyone explain how this can happen?

This is the first cull at 12 months.  (So data from month 13 to 36 was removed)

Next month it will only be month 13.

I agree with you. I have just lost over 200GB, and as you say we have paid for that data. [Removed] Can they do that?

Every other provider (as far as I know) doesn't even let you keep it beyond the month you pay for it in. Sky previously let you keep it for 3 years, then in April 2024 informed customers that it would change to 12 months in 12 months time, which it has. Still a pretty good deal imo.

Re: I’ve lost 437GB data from piggybank without being warned

Surely at best it would have been deducted from a running total as in whatever was left in the running month 12 months ago perhaps would be removed and so on in a 'running total ??..  what ever it's a massive downer for an awful lot of  Sky mobile users..  who will now look elsewhere before  renewing contracts

Depends, 12 months is a lot more than most other firms that do not offer any piggybank.

Lost roll data

I know rolled data is deleted after 12 months but I lost 475gb in one day does anyone know why so much was deleted?

Re: Lost roll data

@Fred999 Because that much was over 12 months old would be my best guess.

@Fred999

Any data that has been in your piggybank for longer than 12 months will have been removed. Sky apparently sent out emails/letters about this in April on last year stating that this was going to happen.

This initial cull was months 13 to 36.  Next one will just be month 13.

Re: Piggy bank data rollover

Very fly not to actually send out rooms to customers to advise on process change to move rollover from 3 years to 1 years, had 1.8TB of data taken out of my piggybank, scummy move from a money hungry company, no surprise to be honest, makes you wonder what the actual benefit is of being a diamond vip customer.

@Gersders

So after 04/06/25 any data older than 12 months is being removed as per the new Sky Mobile Piggybank T's and C's. Customers were made aware of this change in the April 2024 price change letters/emails but it's only recently come into effect which may be why quite a few customers have forgotten about it.

Re: Piggybank data disappeared

I had a very similar thing happen to me too!!!.... Dreadful customer service and even if we were told about this 12 months ago, I'm sure a lot of people would have forgotten about it 14months later and the Sky advisors should have been reminding people about it.

Piggybank

I had 385 go left in my piggy bank after having 50 deducted when I upgraded my phone. I now have only 213 go so have lost 172. How can this happen as I was told it rolled over if unused.
