We have a new Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 computer, running Windows 11. When we try to use the Sky go app on the computer it does not work properly.
We can get the video playing but the the app will not let you go to full screen properly. The volume control stays on screen about halfway up, you cannot change volume, and cannot shut it down very effectively.
I have the same issue on windows 11. Worked ok'ish on windows 10.
I tried Sky Go on my Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3
Starts up ok, but after playing about a minute of any On demand it freezes.
Find when playing a live channel, cannot go back or change volume level.
It just again freezes.
Does this every time.
I have the exact same issue! Clearly a Lenovo issue with the Slim 3. I'm going to try and call customer support tomorrow
I have exactly the same issues as the original poster.
My PC is a Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge running Windows 11 on ARM, I had assumed the issue was due to having an ARM processor but it would appear to be an issue with SkyGo and the latest version of Windows 11 which for me is Windows 11 Home 24H2.
I have tried various compatibility settings for ARM and it they appear to make little difference.
It would be good to know if Sky are looking at this issue, which appears to be affecting quite a few people.
I've had this problem too and getting nowhere with Sky. I've raised a complaint, provided all the details, and then nothing..
If you install Windows 23H2 first, and then allow Windows Update to upgrade to 24H2, it works. But if you clean install 24H2 you get the problem. New PCs which come with 24H2 pre-installed all have the same problem.
Please everyone,. if you have this problem, raise a complaint.. If everyone who has this problem does, then perhaps Sky will do something. I don't understand why Sky cannot fix this problem as it's so easy to reproduce.
I've also seen that there's a new Skygo beta version -25.1.0. Tried that and the problem is not fixed there either.
I have the same problem on my Windows 11 Acer Laptop for most programs
But BBC channels go to Full Screen correctly, and on-screen controls are active.
It's now February 2025 And I'm still having this issue.
It's a new Dell Laptop,Windows 11.
Have I missed something somehwere where there is a way to rectify the problem
Sky Go for Windows 11 is broken for me as well, since the latest app update. Exactly the same symptoms as the original poster, i.e. on-screen controls are 'frozen' in place and cannot be interacted with, do not obey window resizing etc.
I'm not on a laptop, and a variety of different hardware has been reported so far in this thread - so I think we can safely say it's an app issue and not manufacturer -specific. (Mainly in response to the person that thought it might be a Lenovo thing.)
Windows 11 24H2. Worth noting that the app worked fine with 24H2 until the most recent app update.
I have the same issue, it is not the Laptop that is the issue but Windows 11.
I built my system and have 65gb RAM, 24gb Graphics Card teamed up with and i9 Processor and have the same issues.
The issue is the sky go app not being updated, not windows 11.
I still have this issue 3 months later.
Same Blue screen with the large arrow of promise.....then nothing as it goes off !
Trying to view SkyGo from my laptop, windows 11 ....worked no problem for a year+ , then 2 days ago, I got error code 'blah blah bah'
Tried a few times, the same thing happened. So, uninstalled, reinstalled from Sky web page,,,,then the same thing...loading then the screen goes off.(4 times).
Really frustrated,
( I've read a few forum lnks, same problem, though no apparent answer).
Please help , anyone!

We have the same issue on an Intel NUC rwith 11th gen Core i7 CPU running Windows 11. Works fine on an old Intel 7th Gen Core i7 based PC running Windows 10 so clearly not a hardware issue. What is Sky doing to fix this?

Tried Sky Go again last night. It installed an update however exactly the same issues are still being faced. When are Sky releasing a fix for this?
