Sky Go App for Windows 11 not working properly

I have contcated Sky.

They say reinstall,  try the router, check the spelling, windows updates, etc etc.

That's not really acceptable support really.

SO frustrating for a service that is paid for.

Sky Go works fine for me on Windows 11.

I'm running it on a desktop PC with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor with 16Gb RAM. 

The Sky Go app version is 25.2.1

I'm on the Sky Go Beta programme if that makes any difference.

Just bought a new Asus windows 11 pc and found that Sky Go will not work (correctly) on my new pc. Old oc running win 10 all was fine. On new one it opens and starts to Home Screen with tv guide etc but when go to watch something it seems to get stuck in a

mini screen no volume control and banners won't disappear. Pretty rubbish really, have tried everything suggested many times but still the same. Watching the football via sky sports website and it's fine just Sky go no good on win 11 new machine. I've tried the Beta method but was the same problems. Anyone any other ideas that I haven't yet tried, my system doesn't have Cisco so it's not that. Please help.

This problem has been going on for months and we're getting no response from Sky.  I first reported this problem last October, and still not getting any answers.   Suggest you call Sky and raise a complaint.

Thanks for the reply, its not good as this was a bgrand new pc running windows 11 anbd Sky Go was one of the first things i installed as I wanted to watch the football that was due to start, so hard to believe it cant run from a new installation of Win11. Only thing prior to this was that Win11 updated for 30 mins or so.

There is another way to watch football and the other Sky Sports channels as that is via the desktop app that can be installed via here when you select a channel:

Yep, got that now thanks, and I have managed a work around with Cinema (not that I watch it much), if you download the movie it will play flawlessly. I'm sure it will fix itself at some point with either a Sky Go update or next windows updsate (fingers crossed). I did read somewhere that suggested it works on pc's that have upgraded from the previous version of win11 to the latest 24H2 version.

Hi, I am also now experiencing this issue on my LG windows 11 laptop, works fine on iPad and iPhone. Assume Sky have not made contact as yet

Sky did write to me, but they could say was "...make sure you have all the latest Sky updates, uninstall, reinstall, clear cache, make sure you have latest windows updates" etc.

All this was very basic feedback,  that I'm sure we've all done that already before looking for support.

I undertand it's not easy to do tech on line, however, I'm not happy with quality of information form Sky.

I think my tech problem of the SkyGo not loading/playing is quite clear, concise.

V frustrating, as we pay for this.

Experiencing the same issue. I have a new Win11 Microsoft Laptop. Sky Go fires up goes to 'checking for updates...' then goes to Sky Go logo, then just disappears. 

Tried all the "...make sure you have all the latest Sky updates, uninstall, reinstall, clear cache, make sure you have latest windows updates" etc.

Also, deleted everything to do with Sky Go and reinstalled. Did not work. 

Are there any other suggested things to try? Works fine on my old Win10 laptop!

Hi

I overcame this by checking the Windows Defender Firewall permissions.  I was running Win Q11Pro 24H2.

I gave access  to both private and public networks and I then added Sky Go explicitly in the apps permitted to read/write.

This allowed me to get past the splash screens and loaded up the epg.   So the app was "loaded".     But .....

I can get the first program to launch and run but its not correctly displayed and trying to switch to another channel causes every line in the program guide to read "loading" which it never does.

Sky tech support no help with this issue.

Ive returned the PC as not fit for purpose and am now waiting for delivery of an Intel I7/32Gb ram machine.   Im not hopeful it will be any better, but at least I'll be sure its a config issue between Sky Go and 24H2.

That's it, I've had enough. I'm cancelling my subscription. I'm not paying for this rubbish any more. You've had over a year to sort this out, but you haven't even bothered to reply to any of us, let alone fix your broken software. I'll take my business else where. Utterly disgusting customer service, clearly you don't want my £800py.

Alternate  PC has arrived - intel i7 Ram 32Gb Win 11 23H2 and the app functions well.

No significant delays.

Am building recovery files before I attempt 24H2 upgrade.   

Will come back once upgrade completed ....
