There is a workaround which works for me it was posted on here on 18 Jul 2024 @ 07:50 PM which involves downloading a bat file and running it after Sky Go has run not ideal but does work.  Its posted under "Discussion topic: If you are having issues with Sky Go show Audio, but a Black Screen, Try This".

I have to use the Batch file (have to use it 3 or 4 times) to get it to work, agree not ideal. Sky what the HELL are you playing at. Sky Go app works fine on phone but PC is still rubbish.

Close the 2nd highest process in task manager and it will work for a quick work around.

Hello, I am here just to report a work around to get picture to work:

Step 1: open sky go app, make sure it's not full screen, just a small window.

Step 2: play the content you want to watch.

Step 3: when the sound starts but the video is black, click where the fullscreen button is in the bottom right of the window is. Do this until it goes full screen. You'll still have a black screen and sound.

Step 4: Press your windows key to bring up the task bar. 

Step 5: Hover on the Sky Go icon on the task bar. Wait for the small preview of the sky go window to appear. When it does, mouse over the preview and right click on it. Press minimise.

Step 6: Repeat step 5, but instead of pressing minimise, press restore.

The content will now play in full screen with picture. Still can't interact with the Sky go controls but it works.

I have followed these instructions a few times. Unfortunately, it has not resolved for me.

It worked for me the 1st time, but since then I have to click the 3 separate times then it works, but some times the volume & the Foward & Rewind slider does not appear & hit and miss. Sky Go is a total joke, I have contacted them and no one could help at all.......DISGRACE 😡
