Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
@116STEVEN yeah it will stop it, always did but you now have input lag/desync, depending on what gane you play it might be ok for you. Much depends on how much you play, what you play etc.
I play a lot, & mostly destiny & I assumed it was on bungies end as the game is notorious for having weird connection issues. But as soon as I played cod it was very noticeable. I'm sure it's absolutely fine if you're playing something 3rd person or many other games, or if you play an hour every few days etc you just may not notice anything.. I can say something for sure, it's a lot better now with it off than it was a few weeks ago.

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
I've tested in 3 games, it's still there. If you're ingame, with it on, then turn Xbox settings off the active session is still with it on until you restart.
Easiest way to see it, open a game where you have a cursor, like destiny , & run your aim across the screen in a straight line back & forth & you'll see the cursor jump, it's like every 6 secs. Ob modern warfare 3, when you matchmake, there's a radar ping on the bottom left of your screen, watch it closely & it jumps every 6 secs or so

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
Even the guy at a sky shop told me he won't use sky glass for gaming - reckons that a new firmware is due in December. Definitely wouldn't recommend Sky Glass to any one based on this aspect of it.

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
Funny thing is, before this update where they added ALLM mode, it was perfect (for me). I play destiny & cod, on glass, on a Samsung upstairs & I also have a low hz monitor, felt no difference between the 3, just screen size. Our net isn't amazing either, it's super fast but only 35mb/5mb as it's an old street so the cables can only handle that, & we've had zero issues with anything (unless I'm wired downloading a game, then the TV buffers so I download overnight).
Since the update, having it off is very laggy, not quite as bad now but still noticeable enough to not use it.
Id not have gotten glass but we'd just moved out so was out of money n needed a bigger TV so it worked for us n has done it's job, but yeah if I had my time over I'd have gotten a better tv

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
This works, albeit limited testing as pushed for time, but it works!
I have found a fix of sorts. Whether this works for everyone no matter what game console is connected, I am unable to say.
Put console into HDMI 3 slot it's the one nearest to the outside of the tv, go to settings and Connected Devicees, turn on Older Device Compatibility, turrn on Low Latency Mode - ALLM
Doing this has completely eliminated the problem on my partner's XBOX Series S.
Weirdly, this does not work on HDMI 1 or 2, no matter what settings on turned on/off. I will be interested to hear if this works for others.

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
Tried this workaround for my Xbox series X and it seems to limit my gaming to 1080p only, 4k gaming is not available. Don't see the point in gaming at 1080p, defeats the purpose of having a 4k console and a 4k TV(of sorts).
Back I go to HDMI 1 and the restart the glass before I game trick...
Thanks so much for your tip and your hard work to try and resolve this issue.

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
Yeah I didnt realise at 1st as I tested at night in a dark room & was only looking for the jitter. On waking up & properly testing i noticed it was basically just ALLM turned off. Still Unplugging myself 😞

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
Here is your fix. Start up your xbox go to settings/tv and display options/video modes. Make sure these exact options are ticked.
Allow 50hz
Allow24hz
Allow auto low latency mode
Allow 4k
Allow hdr 10
Auto hdr
Leave dolby vision off slows it down .
Your welcome.

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
This doesn't fix the sky glass issue. The issue is glass is 50hz by default, games are 60hz, but the TV isnt updating to 60hz when you put a gane on, despite it being capable of 60hz, causing judder every 4-5 seconds

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
There is a workaround, get the game on your tv, say cod, make sure it's done that stupid update thing it does almost every login, so you're ready to play, then turn the switch off on the wall for the TV, straight back on, when the TV comes back on, go to the game & it'll work fine. Until you switch over or dashboard to the main menu.
Issue is the TV should switch to 60hz when going into a game but it doesn't, but a reset seems to keep at 60hz until you put on a 50hz screen. Sky hime is 60hz, everything else is default 60hz even the console homescreen but games are 60hz.
It's a bit irking to do daily but means you can game on the glass TV without issues until it's fixed. & at least we know they're working on a fix.

Re: Sky Glass ging on Low Latency mode
I've just discovered this forum and noticed that other people are having issues. I have an Xbox series X and literally only play COD, and the game is constantly freezing making it impossible to play, is this due to the sky glass tv? What is the work around? I don't have the update thing happen to me? I only ever have the syncing game thing and that's only ever so often. What do I need to do as a workaround? Do I need to change any settings on my console or sky glass tv? Will much appreciate the help. Looks like I'll be getting a new tv.
