Sky Yahoo email deleted

Unbelievable but used sky email accounts for 17 years and my wife's email was deleted last week without any warning. Sky say speak to Yahoo and provided a number that isn't working. I then tried using the Yahoo support website and it sends a code to verify and then when you log in it just says 'Error" go to help. An absolute farse! Have raised a complaint with Sky.

 

Warning to everyone with a sky.com email get a different provider asap. Sky are washing their hands and Yahoo are impossible to speak to.

@MikeKibbs  Email accounts are only deleted if they have not been accessed for a long time, such users would have gotten an email from Sky advising to login to their email account via a browser to keep them active.

 

Accessing them via a email client would not keep the email account alive.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

She never had any warnings and there is no one to talk to at Yahoo to resolve. Everyone beware!

Yahoo do not manage Sky email accounts so going to them is a waste of your time. If it the account has been deleted then it will be because your wife has not logged in online to it for quite a while, possibly a year or so.

If this is a Sky Yahoo Mail account, there's absolutely no point contacting Yahoo., despite what the adviser told you.

 

What's the error message if you wife tries to log in?

She gets a message saying sky mailbox suspended - you'll need to contact Sky to reactivate it. However, called Sky and they say several things including it doesn't exist,  it does but can't see why issue and also go on hold for 15 mins then get cut off! Absolute farse!

@JosephK01 I assume you're the same poster as @MikeKibbs.

 

Unfortunately understanding of Sky Yahoo Mail (it's a legacy product) is a bit patchy amongst Sky advisers, and the one you spoke to appears not to understand the inactive accounts process. I can only suggest you call again, raising a complaint and ask if it's possible for the account to be reactivated. 

 

The latest round of deleting inactive account has been ongoing for several months. There was a post recently from another mail user who had spoken to Sky and was hopeful that the adviser would be able to reactive it.

That message usually means Yahoo have detected suspected malicious activity on the account, and have suspended it to protect their systems/reputation.

However you are not Yahoo's customer, Sky are, so they have to get it unblocked once they have confirmed identity with your wife.

As stated earlier Sky agents are not well aware of the process.

I am also unable to access my sky /yahoo email account... i get the message ...

Account problem

We apologise for the inconvenience but we have encountered a probkem with your account.

Please contact a phone no which is a sky no

 

It doesnt say account suspended or deleted but sky telling me yahoo have deleted my account

Ive also got a complaint reference number but nobody has contacted me and im fed up with holding on the line trying to contact sky on the above number

You can sign in there ok. It's after you click on the person icon top right then from the drop down click Yahoo Mail at the bottom left.

No. Same problem as just goes straight to page saying'sorry you can no longer create new Yahoo Mail account. It thinks none exists.

that link sends me a verification code, i am then asked to sign in with password.... then i get the same message....
