Re: Sky Yahoo email deleted

Well, turns out Sky deleted her whole email address and content without even warning her. Been on over 20 calls with Sky Tech Support and only suggested action from one of the tech team was 'if you feel so disappointed I think you have every reason to leave Sky but there is nothing we can do!'

Must say, Sky has hit rock bottom in terms of an ability to right what is clearly wrong and has caused huge problems with my wifes comms having been using the same email address for over 17 years. You can imagine the ramifications re banking, insurance etc. My important message to everone using a Sky email address is please don't rely on it. They may delete it without any warning and no one in support has a clue what to do other than say sorry.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE and take appropriate action to mitigate the risk of losing everything.

@JosephK01 Sky only delete accounts which are inactive - that means where there has been no login via sky.com for more than 12 months. Accessing your email by other means, or automatically forwarding Sky emails to another email account doesn't necesssarily count as an active login.

They do give advance notice by email of their intention to delete an inactive account, though depending on how you access Sky Yahoo Mail, it may have been automatically diverted to a spam or junk folder.

Once deleted, it's irretrievable.

I can't begin to imagine the disruption and loss caused by an unplanned deletion. Do be sure that there's a backup option of some sort for whichever email provider you choose next.

Re: Sky Yahoo email deleted

Fortunately she did have a forward action on her account and we have since confirmed NO warning was sent to her. A message was sent to me via my email address as the Sky account holder but made no reference to checking or forwarding the warning to others in my family ie any other email addresses under my account. They assume this is where the process failed. Shocking and please take not all.
