Sky.Com email verification code is sent to my sky.com email address !

The behaviour is consstent fromt the server - regardless of the client or borowser used. Even on a vanilla never used before laptop (somone elses).

I guess thats a good thig from Yahoos perspective, just cannot get that verification code sent anywhere else - i have alternative methods set up in my Yahoo account - but when i try to selsct try another way it just uh ohs me.

Exactly. Hence why the response you see when you try to log in via sky.com doesn't make sense (to me).

You should not be getting a Yahoo challenge when trying to log into Sky email here: https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email, Sky should pass you through to Yahoo pre-authenticated.

Have you tried the webmail login on another device?

I agree with what you are saying - this is what i tried on 3 devices now - behaviour is consistent - cannot login using sky.com email account without asking to send verification code - as soon as i use the sky.com web page it redirects to that yahoo pop up - on every device, every client (also on apps, browser, PC , MAC and Tablet) - fwiw my sky.com *account* pwd is NOT the same as my pwd for sky.com email mailbox access. Never has been. 

The request to add a sky.com mailbox instantly redirects to that yahoo pop up

Well this takes me into my account details for Sky. 

Its not my email though and the creds are different

When you say your Yahoo account, do you actually have a Yahoo address, as that may well have your Sky email as a verification address?

If you do find the cause, please let us know what it was, it's an intriguing problem.

Yes i can access my sky account deatils on that link sent earlier. I do not have a yahoo email account - i can access yahoo via my mobile phone number login - and that has 2 email addresses and 2 phone numbers associated. 

So in summary 
I can access yahoo Account via mobile number
I can access sky account via web

I cannot add my sky.com email mailbox anywhere as it tries to send verification code to the same email address i am trying to add. 

Thanks agian everyone, sorry - i know you think i am doing something odd. Its probably something not set up as i expected initially for recovery purposes 😞

I'm completely confused. What is the Yahoo account for?

Why are you trying to add your Sky email address to it? And if you are trying to add your Sky email address to it, it is pefectly understandable that it will send the verification email to it, to prove it is yours.
