My Email account has been suspended

HELP !

I  just tried to access my Sky email account via Outlook, that I use every day, but in Edge it says I can't create a new email account and in Firefox it says my account is suspended ! ?

I use the account every day and I have a lot of important people linked to it like my bank !

I contacted Sky and spoke to someone that said he will try and request that my account is reactivated, but I will need to wait 48hrs to see if they can reactivate it, but what about all my emails ?

What on earth are Sky up to ?

GREAT NEWS !

 

I have access to my Sky Email Account again - Phew !

 

Although my access to here seems to have been reset too...

 

I have had to switch browsers to be able to log back in and my profile picture has changed to my Microfort one ???

Also, I have been accessing the email account via my browser once a month as someone said that will keep it active... but that clearly has not worked !

Yes, that's what Sky have previously posted here and indeed it says the same in their help guide here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/inactive-yahoo-mail-accounts

 

I'm afraid it's a matter of waiting to see if Sky have successfully reactivated your Sky Yahoo Mail account.

When you try to login here: https://sky.com/signin/email/ just what exactly does it say?

Are you still able to access your email via Outlook, and what Outlook are you using? (Microsoft confusingly have several different apps called Outlook)

Hi, using your link in Edge or Firefox I input my emsil addres and click next, but instead of asking for my password it says...

You can no longer create a new Yahoo Mail account via Sky.
 
If I go to Yahoo.com, click on Mail, enter my email and click next it says...
Sky Yahoo mailbox suspended
Your Sky mailbox is suspended

To keep your account safe, Yahoo Mail has suspended access to your mailbox. You’ll need to contact Sky to reactivate your account.

To contact us, select No, I still need help to the question at the bottom of the page.

In the case you will have to contact Sky about this and hope that someone can help. Don't let them wrongly tell you that you need to go to Yahoo as they can not help as your email account is with Sky,

@Dave.G6HNI that sounds like a slightly different problem. It sounds like the automatic suspension Yahoo imposes (not Sky) when activity deemed suspicious is suspected. If so, it doesn't mean your account is about to be deleted because of inactivity.

 

Historically it has required liaison between Sky and Yahoo to 'unsuspend' the account. That may have been more formalised now and could be what the adviser has instigated.

Same issues with one of my SKY Yahoo account I have 3 active account all recive mail through outlook, getting error

catherine  email account

all other SKY email account are working ,  Did not see any mail asking to logon to the web version of yahoo to keep account live and have not done with any of the other account.

That is what I suspected, it has nothing to do with Sky, it means Yahoo have (rightly or wrongly) detected suspicious activity on your account and have suspended it protect their systems/reputation.

Only Sky can get them to remove the suspension, as mentioned earlier.

You do indeed have the same problem as @Dave.G6HNI.

Like them you will need to get Sky to contact Yahoo to get your account unsuspended. Unfortunately the correct method for doing so is not well understood at Sky.

You are correct in saying the process is not well understood... It's taken me 20 minutes to get Sky support to understand that the issue is not simply that I need to reset the email and password used to access my Sky TV/broadband account. 

 

I've been told there is a technical issue with sky.com emails that they aim to fix in 48-72 hours. I will add that the support person did not convey any confidence.

Changing your password is part of the process, Sky will need to be able to convince Yahoo that they have verified your identity and that your old (possibly compromised) password is no longer valid. Yahoo are unable to do it themselves as they only know you as a Sky customer and have no access to your details.

I appreciate your positively, but the support person genuinely thought I was just having problems using my email to log into my main Sky account. 

I spoke to a second person that told me that Sky have nothing to do with Yahoo mail and they couldn't help me. 

 

Third person has escalated and told me she had someone else with the same issue yesterday, so she has already worked out what was needed... Fingers crossed. However, she said it may take 7-10 days 😡
